Customer Review: Still no buck...

My son got this gun but he's too young so I took it on my annual elk hunting trip last week and let me tell you I am a durn good shot and my aim was perfect but despite shooting 52 times and hitting the elk square in the head every single durn time that elk acted like I was shooting marshmellers at him. Really disappointin' plus my two buddies laughed so hard they had "accidents" in their camos and they are still pokin' fun at me for what they call is my terribul accuracy but it's this gun not me. I gave it back to my son and at least he's havin' some fun knocking all Ma's knickknacks off the shelves and tables, course it don't hurt that I pay him a dollar for every one he breaks. I hate that stuff, especially now that it's Christmas and she scatters hundreds of stupid elfs and angels on every surface including in my bathroom of course that's no problem as I just flush a few everytime I'm in there, which is a lot due to eating her delicious Pinto bean wreath cookies all day long.

Customer Review: Good Replacement For Crossbow

Although the Big Bad Bow (known in the Nerf Internet Community [N.I.C.] as the BBB or 3B) is a re-release of the discontinued original, nothing has changed. The BBB is still a decent high powered single shot spring blaster. Though not as famed or as powerful as the also discontinued Crossbow, the BBB makes a suitable replacement. The gun is quite useless for someone who is not prepared to mod it properly, with only six foam arrows, which should never be used in a serious war, and a meager range of 40 feet, the stock BBB is a bit of a joke. The actual bow parts don't really do anything, they are just for show, and add nothing to the gun.
When properly modded, however, the BBB is an excellent weapon. Firstly, the barrel must be replaced. With a good brass, crayola, or PETG barrel replacement, the gun can often fire mini stefan darts 90-100 feet. It's not a bad idea to re-lube the gun as well. A simple restrictor removal can also benefit the gun's range. There are even more advanced mods that can clip-mod the gun to make it have a Rate of Fire similar to that of the new N-Strike Longshot.
Overall, the gun is a good choice for a modder or someone just looking for some quick fun. But don't buy this gun if you are planning to participate in a nerf war and are not prepared to mod it.
Customer Review: Good toy once you figure some key things out...

This is a pretty good toy plagued by two issues:
1. Given the size of the gun, 35 (at best) feet seems lousy.
2. It only comes with three arrows.
However, these are EASILY dealt with:
1. Take out the air restrictor. It's louder, but shoots better. You can cut off the end so it will shoot microdarts, too. Your choice. Search BBB mods and you'll find it.
2. Instead of going through all the trouble to order replacement arrows from Hasbro, buy the Air Zone Foam Arrow refill pack. They work fine and actually seem to shoot further than Nerf's arrows! For $6, I now have 6 better shooting arrows.
Read the other reviews if you want more info about the actual item, but these issues were the only real complaints I had, and they're fixable.
Customer Review: Replacing earlier review after I read the directions

This was a gift my wife and I bought for my son't birthday. At the party while my son was still opening gifts a friend put it together "reading the directions". Well, actually I found out today when I was cleaning things up where we had the party he didn't read the directions too well and the way I had rigged th bow to work was the proper way for it to be set up.
It isn't a great product, but it is fun and now from reading other reviews and replies people made I see I can get extra arrows cheap enough because they are just foam and probably won't last long. Not sure what the deal is with Amazon showing the darts from the guns because from what I have read the darts won't work with this without some modification.
Customer Review: Was told you CANNOT get replacement arrows!

I bought this for my son's birthday and he and his younger brother like it a lot. However in less than 24 hours one of the arrows got a split in it after very careful use. The arrow is not able to be used now so we only have two. I called Hasbro and was told that they do NOT make replacement arrows for this toy because it is a Toys R Us exclusive.
The toy is great but it is fairly useless if you really can't get replacement arrows...so I give it 1 start overall. They couldn't tell me if any of their other arrows worked with it either. Unless you can find a source for replacement arrows (it only comes with 3) I'd suggest that you spend money on something else and beware of ToysRUs exclusive toys!
