Toys and Games Reviews of Monopoly Junior Edition

Customer Review: A disappointment. . .
Summary: 1 Stars

This parent is of the opinion that "dumbing down" is not what children need. Rather, children need to be "stretched" beyond what they 'think' that they can do, play, or accomplish. With this in mind, get the regular Monopoly set for your kids. Teach them how to play -- and play with them. They will actually learn a game of strategy -- rather than a completely luck-determined "junior" version.

Your kids will appreciate the quality time -- and, over time, will appreciate the fact that they learned -- at an early age -- how to play one of the greatest board games of all time.

Customer Review: A game of chance, but fun anyway
Summary: 4 Stars

What I didn't like about this game was that it left the player without many choices at all. Land on a space and you must buy the ticket booth. Thinking about it, I think occasionally you may get to make a decision with a chance card, but otherwise, it all depends on the roll of the die. What the kids and I DO like about it, however, is that it is fun. Somehow, more fun than a simple game of chance should be. A nice way to spend an evening with my boys, 4 and 6.
Considering the money you can spend on toys these days, this is well worth the ten bucks or so!

Customer Review: Not Good For Teaching Money
Summary: 3 Stars

If you want a simple, fun board game that the children can play without you, this is it. My 3 year old could play this game with her 5 year old sister. Children just move pieces around the board and collect or pay money. BUT, if you want an educational game that teaches your children about money, DON'T BOTHER! The "money" comes in $1, $2, $3, $4, and $5 increments, so there's very little math that really needs to go on for the children to play. I had been hoping for just $1, $5, and $10 like real money, but was sorely disappointed.

Customer Review: Junior is Delightful
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm 12, and I got this game for my birthday about 5 years ago, and I still play it now with just as much fun as when I was younger. It's features are great with the pictures and you just won't be able to pick what area you wan't to but, because they're all great. The figures are durable if you treat them right and the cards hold something new under them everytime. If your a parent, this is the greatest game you could get an intelligent young kid. If your a kid, hope your parents get it for you. You'll defently have fun with it.

Customer Review: Great game
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my almost 7 year old daughter and 4 1/2 year old son. They BOTH love to play! My daughter uses her math skills to manage her money and my son, surprisingly, can do addition as well. It also helps their reading skills. I like it better than regular monopoly because it doesn't take nearly as long. I do wish the board was bigger, as we frequently knock over ticket booths when rolling the dice and moving around the board. But overall, I like the game very much and think it's a great game for families.
