Toys and Games Reviews of Monopoly Here & Now Limited EditionCustomer Review: Great game poorly made Summary: 2 Stars
Overall, this is a great game. Hasbro has successfully taken a classic and re-designed it into something modern and exciting. The reason I'm only giving it a 2-star rating is because Hasbro is doing a terrible job manufacturing it. The first one I bought had cards that looked like they were cut out by a monkey, and even the board wasn't glued together properly- part of the top was wrinkled and torn. I returned it and bought another. The second was missing several cards and part of the board was a different color than the rest. So you never know what you're going to get when you buy this game.
Customer Review: Monopoly Here & Now Edition Summary: 4 Stars
This game is super! I could play it all day. There are airports instead of railroads, cell phone and internet service are the utilities, and the monetary value is in millions! Avaliable for purchase are things like Disney World, Golden Gate Bridge, White House, Fenway Park, and, the new boardwalk, Times Square.
All of the properties were selected by US citizens. Votes were cast regionally for a landmark to represent the area. The properties were placed around the board in order of percent of regional population that voted for it over other things.
Customer Review: Modern Family Fun Summary: 5 Stars
This "Here and Now" edition of Monopoly was on my granddaughter's Christmas Wish List and the entire family has been playing the game since. It's such great fun to be a billionaire instead of the old-fashioned millionaire, land at popular airports rather than outdated railroads, and visit well-known cities and places, like Hollywood, Kennedy Space Center, Times Square, Golden Gate Bridge, etc. Grandmas like me talk about the older names, the younger ones discuss the new places, and we all get an education. Also, what fun the new playing pieces are!
Customer Review: Fun game, but awful box Summary: 2 Stars
I don't know why they didn't make the board simply fold in half. The money holder and plastic hotel/pieces holder is really chintzy, and it's very hard to put everything away when you're done. This game isn't cheap, so they could have taken a bit of extra thought so the game could be put away more effectively. Otherwise a fun updated version of Monopoly that my kids can identify a lot more with, and the money amounts make a lot more sense. I could have done without the product placement in the game pieces though.
Customer Review: Counting the bigger money is a pain, split board is cheap, but still a lot of fun! Summary: 3 Stars
It sounds great when you collect rent and it is now in the hundreds of thousands or millions, that is until you have to count and make change all the time. I had no idea there was an electronic banking version so will have to check that out. Aside from that, I thought the board itself was defective the way it is now folded into quarters. I hate the big gap left by the new fold, really makes it feel "cheap". Aside from that, the idea of an updated game is great, and it's still a ton of fun to play.
