This game is much more relevant than ever before. The prices are higher, the penalties are different and the properties are brand new. As a Texan, I was sad to see Texas Stadium be one of the cheaper properties but oh well. It was still very cool to see Texas represented.
The game play is much the same as you'd expect from Monopoly. In that respect, nothing's really changed. But the updated costs and what not really do make the game more interesting. It's 2 million for this or 500,000 for that. This not only allows you to pretend to be a millionaire. It also allows my 9 year old to practice his math with bigger numbers. Games are fun... family time is fun... learning is fun. Monopoly here and now gives you all of that and more!

This specific monopoly was a good thing to buy for new places on the board and new peices, as for the rules they remain the same, even though the cash has increased it is basicly the same they just added digets which means your playing the old monopoly. As far as the cards go they are changed slightly which is good no one wants to read the same material for more then a decade before it becomes well outdated. As for the rest of the rating, other monopoly games you can purchase cash for (on amazon.com) which is genaric. On Hasbro you can also purchase additional houses, hotels, and replacement tokens. If you are wanting something custom then you cant buy additional replacments which can be a downfall if you have young children.Customer Review: Fun, Fun, Fun!

This version plays a little differently from the old, standard Monopoly - which makes it much more fun to play, as revised strategies are order. Having the prices updated makes for more enjoyable gameplay, and it's kind of nice to think that average Americans (rather than just corporations) had a hand in creating this board. My 19 year old son and I had a blast playing it. Since the old Monopoly game puts me to sleep in fairly quick order, that's a high level compliment. The only thing I'd change about this version are the tokens. They're the traditional metal ones, but they just don't quite look and feel "right" as game tokens. That's a small complaint, though, in a game that provides a lot of pleasure.Customer Review: A fun new twist on an old favorite, the money part is HARD!

I really like this new twist on an old favorite. My children, 13 and 6 enjoy playing this game immensely. The pieces are fun and recognisable such as Starbucks, McDonalds Fries, New Balance shoes, a jet, etc. The places are also recognisable such as Times Square and Wakiki Beach. The game concept is pretty much the same, with the spaces having the same function as the original Monopoly. The only part we really found confusing was the money part. Especially when you are having to pay 10% tax, or mortgage several properties. It can get confusing with dealing with millions at a time. I wished they had kept the money part the same as the original, as millions of dollars at a time serve no purpose.Customer Review: YOU could own Las Vegas!

We bought several of these new Monopoly games for relatives for Christmas. I was intrigued by the new playing pieces and thought it would give our grandkids a kick to play with a computer piece or a Starbucks cup. I am not sure if the kids liked the new look or not, but the adults did! We especially liked the new properties ( I bought part of Las Vegas and the White House!) and the new rental amounts. It blew my mind to have to pay millions in rent....which finally resulted in losing to my grand son, to whom this was not such a big deal.
I would highly recommend this new version of Monopoly to anyone who loves the game. You too can be an inside trader or own Times Square!
