Toys and Games Reviews of Monopoly Electronic Banking EditionCustomer Review: good family game Summary: 4 Stars
This version is a lot more convenient than the regular monopoly in regards to cash. But the only thing that was kind of annoying was the credit card reader where it either subtracts or adds up the value of the card. You have to wait for it to read it for like 2 secs and it takes another 2 secs to subtract it. It may not seem long but it is a lot slower than just paying by cash. Also, the banker is in charge of the credit card calculator so when other players need to owe someone else, it kind of slows the game down a bit. The banker needs to be able to multitask. Other than the calculator problem, everything is great.
Customer Review: Its pretty cool Summary: 5 Stars
Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition
We played it as soon as we got it...it was different trying to get used to the rules without paper money...as far as putting the $500 dollars in the middle for free parking we just decided to give the player that lands on free parking 500k. the only question i have and havent been able to figure out is if we have to add the money back on the card to start a new game or if it automatically resets its self after awhile...if someone knows that question could you let me know??
Customer Review: Big Disappointment Summary: 2 Stars
This version of monopoly is not for the traditionalist. The "electronic banking" really makes the game a bust. All of the fun of interacting with each player and exchanging money is gone. It is also hard to keep track of how much money player have - I personally missed my piles of money in front of me. The game also looses its educational value because you do not have to count money. The age range of the players was 23 -44 and we all preferred the original version of the game. I would only recommend for someone under 20 who has never played the original version. I also missed the original property names.
Customer Review: Great game! Summary: 5 Stars
This version of Monopoly is my second favorite so far. First place is of course monopoly featuring nintendo.
The banking calculator is super simple. My seven year old operated it like a pro. It made game play a lot faster. No guessing who has how much. No money to deal with. We found that we were able to play longer because we didn't have to count everything at the end of the game! We just added in our property values declared my son the winner and put it away!
The "new" properties are great. A change of scenery for monopoly is always fun.
Monopoly fan or not, you will love it.
Customer Review: Cool, but slows the game down Summary: 3 Stars
The initial newest was welcome. Almost all of the dollar amounts were multiplied by ten over the traditional version. However, the EFT aspect really slows the game down because the banker has to insert at least one card and punch buttons and wait for the beep to move money on nearly every roll of the dice -- passing cash is much faster. If we play this
version again, we'll try to rotate roll of banker to the person who just rolled, to see if that speeds things up. Knowing what I know now, if there is an updated version that uses cash instead of EFT, I would buy that instead.
