Customer Review: Great new/fun way to play monopoly

We used this game in the annual family Monopoly Extravaganza. Some adults were playing the older version and the kids and one adult were playing with this new game. There was way less arguing and grief going on at the kids table and it seemed like more laughter and fun. That could have been because the game was new - or because the "out to win" players were at the adult table. I would like to say because this game makes it fun. This is a family of Monopoly players. At first some missed the cash in hand, but when baby sister would walk by it was nice to not have to guard your money. :-) It is teaching you to use money in a way that it is used now - with the swipe machines. Whatever - we'd like to play it again.Customer Review: Finally! Monopoly setup and cleanup made simple!

While this might at first appear like a gimic, Monopoly with electronic banking makes, setup, cleanup and playing so much easier.
No money to count out. Transactions are done through the well thought out banking calculator.
It's also a nice touch that the money has been increased to thousands and millions to account for inflation.
This might not be the choice for Monopoly purists, but it's a lot of fun.
The only pet peeve of mine is the board that is "split" to fold smaller. These are now used in most Monopoly sets and they just don't hold up as well as the traditional folding board and the split is an annoyance when playing.
Still this is a great Monopoly set.

Customer Review: Lots of fun, but no quicker : )

My sons and I purchased this for my husband. He LOVES Monopoly and it turned out to be a great addition to our games. My youngest (7) plays it just as enthusiastically as his uncle (30++) with the rest of the family -- its a 6-player and loads of fun! So far, we've had 2, 4+hour games and we're still on the same batteries in the ATM! I thought we might miss the addition/subtraction practice, but now the kids can practice reading numbers in the millions and beyond -- so one educational opportunity is swapped for another. Unfortunately the machine makes the game no faster, but for those who get into Monopoly marathons that's no big deal : )Customer Review: great new way of playing

It's good to see this old classic brought to modern times. I used to love playing this game when i was younger but as we live in today fast paced world it seem to take too long to play a game. I guess years ago we had more time. Anyway with the new credit / debit card the game move much more quickly. you would not think the money would take so much time but it's made simple to transfer amounts between player which i think makes up alot of the time. No more stopping to make change or go the banker for different domoninations. And with a press of a button you know exactly how much total money you have as well as the other players.Customer Review: Not impressed.

I suppose I'm a bit of a Monopoly purist, but I really just couldn't make myself enjoy this version of the game. Players have no idea how much money they have at any given point, and the inflation of the prices is unnecessary and makes keeping track of one's own spending mentally more difficult.
On the plus side, though, cleanup is a breeze.
One thing I think would improve the educational value of this version of the game greatly would be to add a check register for each player so that he or she can keep track of spending and so that kids can learn that credit cards really aren't an endless supply of money.
