I got this toy for my daughter for Christmas and it definitely made the Top 5 list. She was able to enjoy the toy without much help because the process is easy and safe. She has lots of fun creating new creatures and find new ways to play with them.. It encouraged creativity with a side of scientific exploration. The clean up was easy when she was done, and she's returned to the gift several times. Overall this was a homerun for a present. My daughter is 7 years old.
I recommend this toy for any kids who have fun creating scenarios, like science, or like crafts!

I wish I had this when I was a kid. This set is great. It was easy for my son (7 years old) to do at our kitchen table all by himself. He took it out of the box, read the directions and made several aliens within a few minutes. This allows the child to be creative in coming up with different alien shapes and color combinations. The other nice thing is that the base holds ALL the items that come with this toy, so it's easy to store since everything fits inside and nothing gets lost. Clean-up is easy too. Your child will have a blast with this toy. Price is right too!Customer Review: Keeps the kids busy for quite awhile...

My younger daughters (ages 5 and 7) and their friends love to play with this! They love to manipulate the dough/clay and use their creativity to make their own crazy little alien critters by mixing and matching the heads and bottoms. The fact that they can make more alien critters while the others are "setting" is great because kids don't like to wait to have to make another one.
I also like that you can store the parts in the alien ship and not have them all over the floor and lost!

My son absolutely loves this! We recently moved to our house, and he didn't know many of the other kids on the street. He used the Martian Matter Alien Maker outside one afternoon, and it piqued the interest of several of the neighborhood kids. Soon, they were all joining in and making their own aliens! For us, it was a great icebreaker! There's minimal mess, and the kids love making their own weird little alien combinations. Every other day I hear, "MOM,puh-leeze can I make an alien??" My 7-year-old son received this as a birthday gift and he loves it. It is the first thing he wants to play when friends come over and plays with it often on his own. Mom and Dad needed to help him the first few times to learn the technique, but now he can do it independently. I thought it would be very messy, but it's not at all. You just use a play-doh like compound to make a mold and then squirt in the gel. It hardens in just 5 minutes and you have a squishy martian to play with.
