Toys and Games Reviews of Martian Matter Alien Maker Playset - Spaceship

Customer Review: We LOVE This Toy!
Summary: 5 Stars

My kids (7 & 5) got Martian Matter Alien Maker for Christmas. I never review anything but just had to say what a WONDERFUL toy this is! I had a blast setting this up with my kids. I helped with the first 'Martian'. I found the whole process very interesting & fun. After I assisted with the first 'Martian', they now play it on their own. It holds their attention. They are learning to follow steps on their own. Even the process of the 'Lava solidifying in the Mud' is a marvel to them. They've made plenty of 'Martians' & we have lots of 'Lava' leftover. BIG PLUS: The spaceship conveniently holds all of your supplies. It's a keeper! Do not hesitate to buy this :)

Customer Review: it's alright
Summary: 3 Stars

got this for my 7 1/2 year old son. he couldn't wait to play with it, played with it for maybe 2 days, since then it's been sitting on the side. he'll look at it and make sure his "aliens" are still ok, but still hasn't made any more. the aliens are kind of cute, but they look like gummy candies, so be aware if you have any little ones who may want to try and eat them. there are a lot of pieces to this toy, but it can be all contained within and on the toy itself. but the pieces don't snap on, so easy for things to fall off or get dislodged easily. not bad toy for the price, but only gave it 2 stars because it didn't get much play time.

Customer Review: Fun craft!
Summary: 5 Stars

My son got Martian Matter for his 5th birthday. He has really been enjoying it! We do play-doh a lot, so it's fun to do something a little different once in a while. When friends come over they've had fun making the aliens. It does require my assistance, otherwise I think we'd have the slimy stuff all over the place. The way it works is you make a mold with a substance like play-doh, and then you fill it in with a slimy gel like substance. Then you wait about 10 minutes for it to dry. Unless your child is very neat it can become quite a mess. But, as I said...we've been doing it together.

Customer Review: More fun than we expected
Summary: 4 Stars

We bought this as a Christmas present for our 5 year old girl and expected that it would be fun, but it's turned out way better than we thought. My 3 year old girl liked it as well, although I would only let my kids play with it with supervision. It comes with clay that you mash aliens into to make molds, and then you fill them with a polymer that hardens into a rubbery substance in about 5 minutes. The girls played with it for over 90 minutes in a sitting today, and there is plenty of material left for more play times. I'll be buying more of these as gifts for my 5-year-olds' friends.

Customer Review: Great idea, but
Summary: 3 Stars

I don't know why I am the only one having this problem...maybe we got a bad batch of goo. The directions say to leave the goo inside the clay for 3 - 5 mins...no matter how long we leave it in, the martians are always gooey and "raw" in the middle and they fall apart easily at the head/foot seam. Maybe thats the point?? But that's just a mess to me. I would rather have something the kids can play with anywhere in the house...not just on a mat in the kitchen. It would be nice if you had a choice of gooey or hard like a gummy. The directions say you can do this, but I wasn't able to.
