Toys and Games Reviews of Iron Man Repulsor Power Figure

Customer Review: My 4 year old loves it
Summary: 5 Stars

We've only had this toy for two days now so I can't make any comments as to it's durability, but I have to agree with what the other reviewer said - for the price realistic looking (plastic not "iron" or metal of course so some might consider it a bit "cheap" looking) with a limited number of nonetheless (from a child's point of view at least) very cool sound effects - iron man has a little trigger thing on his foot, when you lift him up he makes machine-like swooshing through the air sounds - theroetically when you put him down (thereby pressing the trigger on his foot again) he stops making the noise though I found you have to press him down on the ground a bit firmly for that to happen - when you move his arm a little light in the palm of his hand lights up and it makes a laser blasting sound - he says "I am Iron Man" and "Repulsor Beam" (name for his laser). Fires plastic projectiles too so be careful, make sure your munchkins don't hit another kid in the eye (or just take away the projectiles - BEFORE giving your munchkin the toy to avoid crying and wailing). Runs on 3 double AA batteries (included). Decent amount of articulation on it. Very faithful to the original concept of iron man which I'm familiar with as a comic book fan. Worth the twenty dollars IF your child is asking for an iron man toy, otherwise you'll find it overpriced if you buy it as a "surprise" gift for a munchkin who may or may not be interested in it. To make the toy "come to life" for your munchkin check out the website mentioned in the instruction booklet, it has online iron-man games your little one can play (hopefully an Iron Man cartoon will appear on TV soon as a tie-in) .

Customer Review: The detail on this toy is awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

Although this is a toy meant for kids 4+ years old, the detail on this Iron Man toy is pretty awesome it can also serve as an action figure collection for adults. I am an adult and an avid fan of everything Iron Man. The reviews here prompted me to buy this toy to add to my action figure collection. Although made of plastic, the way it was painted makes it look like it is die-cast metal, proof to how much attention was made to make the detail of this toy stand out. It is tall, around 12 inches high, yet it is not cumbersome to place along your other action figure collections. In fact, this toy enhances your collection's appearance. The point of articulation is somewhat limited and the fact that it "talks" gives it away as a toy. But it doesn't bother me at all. The points of articulation is pretty much limited but for all intents and purposes, this will just serve as part of my action figure collection, and it will pretty much pose in the same position as I would leave it. It is battery powered (AAA) for the "talking" and the "lighting repulsor" feature. I advise you though to take the battery out if it will just serve as a part of your collection. Leaving the battery inside and forgetting about it will cause the battery to leak and will corrode the finish of this toy. Highly recommended for all Iron Man fans out there!

Customer Review: Another addition to the Why Didn't They Have This When I Was A Kid? file!
Summary: 4 Stars

My 4 yr. old son loves this toy! More than two-and-a-half months after buying it for him, he still plays with it all of the time, takes it with him in the car whenever we let him, and has vanquished many an Evil Doer with a well-placed "Repulsor Blast!"

I can't imagine Tony Stark's armor being much tougher than this action figure. It gets "flown" into all types of surfaces at various rates of impact, and even the finely detailed fingers are still intact. The makers went the "extra mile" by including not just an "on" and "off" setting, but one in-between that silences the "whooshing" jet boot noise (which continues until Iron Man "lands" again...oh joy, haha), but still allows the sound effects/speech that occur when pressing the chest or arm buttons! (And speaking of those boot sound effects, we have had NONE of the problems in some other reviews of the boot switch not working that triggers the sound on and off for taking off or landing.)

I have only two minor complaints. First, there are some limits to the articulation of the arms, legs, and head. No

Customer Review: Awesome-Sauce
Summary: 4 Stars

It's rare you find such a well made toy where you could tell the designers were genuinely interested in creating a smart and fun toy. The sensors in the boots that make lift-off/land jet sounds, and what appear to be motion sensors in his chest make fun 'evasive maneuver' sound effects when you roll and twist him in the air.

The only down side I can find is the almost mediocre voice acting, and, yes, it would've been great to have more points of articulation. An almost perfect toy.

Customer Review: Fantastic and very durable!

My daughter got this for Christmas 2008. She was 5 then. She carried it around all day. (Poor Cinderella doll had to stay home, While Ironman went to Grandmas with us). The "friendship" has never ended. Batteries have been changed twice, and Ironman still lights up, still talks, still moves, would probably still fire his missles if they hadn't been lost months ago. Now I'm buying one for my nephew who is now 4 and tries to take her Ironman home everytime he visits.
