Toys and Games Reviews of Hi Ho Cherry-O

Customer Review: Hi-Ho Cherry-O
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great game for small children who aren't quite ready for big kid games. The game is very simple, and doesn't require any sort of strategy. It's mainly all luck, but if you think about it, luck games are really the only kind of games small children will be able to beat you at! The little cherries are cute, and so are the little holes in which to put them.

I would recommend this game to any parent looking for a board game for their young child.

Customer Review: I hate this game!
Summary: 3 Stars

This game is very frustrating for young children. It requires fine motor skills. The child has to pick up the small cherries and move them on and off the tree. Any little bump, drop, slip or mishap and the whole game is messed up. I find it nerve racking and so does my daughter. I think this game is not developmentally appropriate. As far as counting skills go it's great for that, but there are other games that develop this skill. I would not waste your money.

Customer Review: This is a great game for teaching turn taking and counting.
Summary: 4 Stars

This was my daughter's first "real" game. She was 2.8 years old when we purchased it. She was immediately able to play the game. There is no reading involved and focuses on the skills of turn taking, counting, and organizing the playing board. I recommend this as a first game for parents teaching their children how to take turns and count to 10, as well as manipulating small objects on the cherry trees. (I have fun playing this game too).

Customer Review: This is a very cute game but
Summary: 3 Stars

I really like this game but I have one big problem with it, if someone accidently bumps it all the cherries fall off the trees. There has to be a better way to make the cherry stay put. Oh and dont dare take out the baskets or cherries will fall under and then you have to lift the whole thing to get them and before you know it you have cherries all over the place. Other than the problem with the cherries staying in place this is a very cute game.

Customer Review: My 31 month old son loves this game!
Summary: 5 Stars

My 31 month old son likes to play Chutes & Ladders, but still needs some help counting the right number of squares to move forward. But when I gave him this game yesterday, he wanted to play it all day long, and first thing this morning when woke up, he said he wanted to play the "cherry game" again! Picking the bright red cherries is fun for him and makes counting very tangible and easy to do for a little guy his age. Two thumbs up!
