Customer Review: Baby Loves this Toy!

I bought this for my 13 month old for Christmas and he LOVES it! The noises from the steering wheel can get a bit irritating for parents that don't like toys with a lot of noise but the little ones love it. My 2 1/2 year old niece really enjoyed playing with it as well (always a bonus).
The truck seems to be very durable but is light weight so could be easy to tip over. One downside I see is to change it from a push-to-walk toy to a ride-on you have to take the seat all the way out rather than just changing some lever or something so it has to be done by a parent.
In general I would recommend this toy. I have several of the other push-to-walk toys and found this one to be much more educational and also a lot more fun.

Overall I have been disappointed in this toy by three things.
1. The sounds are not realistic and there is no way to turn them off.
2. The seat is difficult to lift up. My 18 month old knows that it should open but can't do it himself and it frustrates him. I understand his pain, it is not the easiest to do for an adult either.
3. It does not move well on the carpet yet it really isn't an outdoor toy.
I also bought the Rumblin' Rollin Crane to go along with the scoot n scoop and my son plays with it separately. It's a big toy for how much he actually uses it.
If you are looking for a fun ride-on toy I would not recommend this, there are a lot of other fun ones out there.

My grandson tries to play on this, and scoots across the floor on it, but rolls over his toes alot and it only goes in a straight line. So he is always lifting it up to turn. The space between front and back wheels is small, so when child scoots on it, he has to watch out for his toes constantly. My grandson sat on it and played with the ignition, horn and blinkers until just recently as it was too hard for him to operate. He is a normal 21 month size currently.
The seat is hard to change from sit to push. And you can hurt your fingers doing it.
Overall, I think this vehicle is cute and noises fun, but it just isn't too functional and a little damaging to toes and fingers.

This was purchased for my son for his first birthday. He loves it and so does his older brother and sister. He has not rode on the toy yet because he is to little. He can use it as a push toy just fine. It doesnt tip over or flip when he goes to pull up on it. He likes the steering wheel and I like the fact I can take it off and bring it with us if we want. The only thing I would change is to make the seat like more like a shape sorter. Where the shapes fall through the seat not just sit on top of it. Other then that I am very pleased with it and plan on getting him the crane for Christmas to go with it. I wish Tonka still made these items so the would be available in the stores.Customer Review: Grows with your child!

I'm all about toys that will last longer than a month. This tonka truck is a big hit with my son. We got it for him when he was 9 mo old and it was worth the money! At first he liked just standing and moving the objects like the key/blinker/horn for the noise. Now he loves practicing to walk with it. Eventually he will be able to ride on it too!
My only annoyance is that when the key is turned you have to wait awhile for the engine noise to stop. You can't just turn the key back to make it stop. It also seems a little loud and there's no volume control. I think it bothers me more than him.
Overall, he's having fun with this toy!
