Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Power Tour Electric Guitar (Black)Customer Review: This guitar really rocks! Summary: 5 StarsI must say that I was surprised by how very awesome this guitar is. Everyone that has meddled with it at my house is hooked. It was a gift for my 5 year old and he loves rockin out. He hasn't grasped the learning part yet, but it is fairly simple. I, his grown up mother, love it. Hey, I'm playing "Smoke on the Water", I might become a rock star. This guitar is highly recommended by me for all ages. We don't have the amp yet, may not even get it. The colume control makes it possible to play quiet when others are sleeping or rock out loud when you wanna. All of the modes are very fun, as are the options (Indie, Punk, Metal, Rock) for the sound. I'd give it ten stars if I could!
Customer Review: Great for all ages! Summary: 5 StarsThis is a big hit in my home. My 13 year old, 12 year old, 5 year old, and even my husband all love it. It's fun for the younger kids, yet challenging for the older ones. The sound is great and it plays like a real guitar. There is a volume knob on front and it gets pretty loud without the amp, but it can be played somewhat quietly too. I love the fact that you don't have to be hooked to a tv - you can take it anywhere and play it. They are having fun and really learning too. Great product!
Customer Review: exceded expectations Summary: 5 StarsGet you kids away from the computer and video games for awhile; expand their brains while having fun with music.
This is an innovative toy that has been extremely enjoyable.
Customer Review: My grandson loves it! Summary: 5 StarsI bought this for my grandson, for his birthday. He loves it! Unlike his "Guitar Hero", it doesn't require that he be strapped into a computer game for him to be enjoying it, either. He can be anywhere around the house and have fun with it. He and his friends are having a great time learning to play the electric guitar! The only negative I have to say is that physically it is smaller than anticipated, but that isn't a big deal.
Customer Review: Really cool musical toy Summary: 5 StarsThis is a really cool electronic instrument. You actually will learn something about musical scales (There are 12 notes that you can play on the fret board...all the notes of a chromatic scale) If you want to play rock, you're all set...power chords all the way.
The guitar has a few modes...(1) playing (2) jamming with external audio (3) 'simon"-esque mode where you follow a pattern that the guitar shows you and (4) 'visualization mode' (you plug in a music source and the fretboard animates to the music while the guitar's speaker plays the audio)
You can also choose a different styles for the guitar so the notes you play will sound different (ex: with distortion, or echo, etc.) I find some of the mode to sound very similar.
Overall, it's a great piece of technology for a good price.
