Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Power Tour Electric Guitar (Black)Customer Review: I Can't Put It Down Summary: 5 Stars
The stated recommended age for this product is 10-15 years of age. Try doubling that. Or even tripling it. For anyone who ever wanted to be a rock star, this is for you. I couldn't put it down. And when I finally did, I found myself picking it back up again. My only gripe is that since it's made for kids, it's a little small for an adult. (But it doesn't affect my overall rating of excellent.) If you have friends like mine, there's a whole late teen/adult demographic out there who would love this thing. For fans of "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band" the Power Tour Guitar is a must-have. Just read the rest of the reviews and buy it. You won't be sorry.
Customer Review: Great (toy) substitute for a real electric guitar. Summary: 4 Stars
Great toy. My 7 year old and 3 year old love it. Of course only the 7 year old can play any songs. She got it for Christmas last year instead of a real guitar. We got the amp too.
This year, I splurged and got her the real deal (electric guitar), but Powertour was a great into to guitar for us.
Note - the first Powertour we got quit working after only a few weeks, so we returned it and got a new one. I guess it was a fluke because after nearly a year of use, the second one is still working. Yes, they still love to play with this toy.
Customer Review: Great Toy! Summary: 5 Stars
My 5 year old was asking for a guitar for his birthday. He was good at Guitar Hero, but I'm not paying that much money. After searching around for a durable guitar, I came across this Power Tour guitar. I read the reviews and decided to get one for him. It is AWESOME! He can almost play every song now and he's only had it a month. I think that is pretty good for a 5 year old.
Overall, it is very durable, fun, educational, a good buy, everything you want in a toy. I wish every toy fit into all of those categories.

Customer Review: Very cool toy, if you don't mind some noise Summary: 3 Stars
I have been playing electric guitar for over 20 years. This lil toy is a GREAT place to get kids started. It looks like a mini Gibson SG and approximates strumming, hammer ons, pull ofs and chord changes. If a kid gets good at playing along to the songs, I feel that they could easily be shown how to play those same songs on a real guitar. It IS a little noisy and if your kid likes to just sort of free form and noodle along with songs, it could give you a headache. Make them use the enclosed DVD and they will come around though.
Customer Review: Better than expected Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this Power Tour guitar for my 9 yr. old grandson who is only into video games. I wanted him to have something other than a game. I wasn't sure whether he would like it or not. Well, he loves it!! We went to several Christmas parties and he had to take it with him. He normally is shy in front of people but now he wants you to listen to his new song. It's great. My only suggestion is to get head-sets with it so you won't be driven crazy with all the praticing. It's easy to use and the video helps them get started.
