i bought this toy for my daughter when she was 4 mos. she loves it! although it hasn't been much help getting her to go to sleep, she loves to smile at it, and is absolutely delighted when she makes it light up and sing. she loves music, and this toy has been very effective for getting her to smile for pictures, or getting her to calm down when she is upset. it is very durable, i have had no problems with the paint, or anything, and now that my daughter is teething, she chews on it all the time. the batteries ran out rather quickly, but don't they always? overall, this toy is worth the $10.Customer Review: The new gloworm could use some help...

I was very excited to buy this for my daughter, but it turned out to be a huge disapointment. It does not have a soft gentle glow, rather a bright glow that was uncomfortable to look at. The music was not even close to soft lullibies, rather it scared my daughter and my older son every time it turned on. The music could be heard across the house, even with other noise. I was very sad to return it, but could not keep it when it scared both my children because of being too bright and too loud. I think it could really be a good toy for an older child (4-6) but not one that my children enjoyed.Customer Review: Great toy!

I got this at my baby shower for my little boy. He's now 2 years old and STILL loves this toy! "Glowey" has stood up to all a rambunctious little boy can do to him, and has taken many rides in the washing machine without any problems. When my son is having a roudy, "terrible" day, "Glowey" is one of the things that will get him to calm down and sit quietly and play.
I've seen some of the other reviews say they found the toy too loud, I've never really thought it was that loud, and my son goes to sleep every night with "Glowey" playing him to sleep. I reccomend this toy to everyone!

My son (11 mths.) had to have a gloworm...he would not surrender the toy after cruising 'round Toys R Us one day. Being the softie I am, plus having experienced my own lovable gloworm as a child, I purchased it. He loves it! Easy enough for him to turn on the music and he dances back and forth with the music. Plus, he holds it like a baby!!1 It is so sweet--the face lights up and slowly grows dimmer as the songs progress...soft material, pastel, neutral colors, and favorite lullabies all add to this toy. My family loves this toy, we own two of them since it is so wonderful. It is not loud but not quiet either. It could play the music a little longer but it is still soothing to listen to. It is also fun to play with while not trying to nap, a sleep aid is not it's only purpose. Good parenting and a comfortable surrounding help some children to sleep more than a lullaby toy. Perhaps sing to your child or read them a story, you can't expect to just put them in a bed with a toy and walk away to make your life more simple. Some children are easier than others, don't blame the toy.
