Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Playskool Dream Town Rose Petal CottageCustomer Review: Rose Petal Cottage faulty stitching Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered the Rose Petal Cottage from Amazon.com when it was on sale for both my daughters' big Christmas gift. When putting it together Christmas Eve I had problems with the fabric coverings. I realized that one side had overlapped fabric in part of the seam. It definitely was not going to fit over the chimney side structure. I had to pull apart the seam to free the fabric out, then hand sew the open end back. It fit great after that. I was glad to fix it, although frustrated to spend half the night panicking and trying to figure out the problem. I wonder if I was one of the unlucky ones to receive a defective cottage, or if a lot of other people had the same problem. I would have paid more money somewhere else to avoid this hassle. It worked out in the end, and my girls love it.
Customer Review: A Really Well-Thought Out Toy - Great Job Hasbro !!! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this for my 3 year old and "Santa" delivered it a few days early as we will be out-of-town for 10 days - "WOW". It exceeded my expectations which is a rare thing in this day and age! It was easy to set-up (I didn't hear any cussing from hubby) and the oven is awesome - it has working knobs and a door that opens and shut - perfect for baking those Rose Petal Muffins in ! The detailing is amazing -e.g. the curtains open and shut. My three year-old LOVES IT - it's like her private clubhouse. Even my 6 year-old daughter loves it. I can't wait to buy the sink and add to this Great Collection ! It's also just beautiful to look at - I don't mind it being out. And the fact that it can be put away so easily - Great Job Hasbro - you really have a Great Product on your hands !!!
Customer Review: It's great Summary: 5 Stars
Before I start gushing about it, let me just stress READ MANUAL CAREFULLY. We spent an hour trying to fit the wrong cover over the wrong frame. The manual is actually quite simple so I guess it's our fault. Too hasty!
Once assembled, our daughter - a tiny 5 year old love, love, love it. She would spend hours playing inside.
And the great thing is it can also serve as a storage for toys. Or at least hide the mess if you have people over or you just want to be clutter free for a while.
We have had it for half a year and still no tear - altho I must say my girl isn't the rough kick-things type.
It's probably not suitable for younger kids say 2 years below. If you lean on the cottage wall, it will fall over. (A friend's daughter (2.5) did that)
Customer Review: LOVE IT! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this for my three year old and our almost 1 year old for Christmas and it far exceeded my expectations. Hasbro knows what kids love, and have created a great product. I mean, even down to the small details like the curtains, the mail slot in the door, and the SUPER cute fabric used, this toy gets a 10 in my book. I also bought the nursery set to go with it and my kids have spent the majority of the morning playing with it. I bought this on Amazon for 30 and the nursery set for less than 20, and FREE shipping! My kids have even preferred this to the train table we bought! As for assembly, I recommend laying out all the pieces according to the numbers so its less confusing. Once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. Thanks Hasbro, and thanks Amazon.
Customer Review: Daughters are happy! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased two of these for my girls last year for Christmas. My then 6 year old had been hounding me for over 2 years for one, and the then 4 year old decided she wanted one too. So they both got one, and they were really excited to find them set up on Christmas morning.
My husband and I set them up the night before. Once you know what you are doing in the set up of the houses, things go pretty smoothly. You need a good amount of space to do this, but set up is fairly easy.
The girls enjoy spending time in their own houses, and since we didn't purchase the furniture pieces to go along with it, their imaginations let them use their houses for anything they want.
They are pretty to look at too, and a year later they are still using them :)
