Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Playskool Dream Town Rose Petal CottageCustomer Review: Every little girl's dream (and mom's too!) Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this for my daughter's 3rd birthday and have finally found something that she loves for more than a few minutes. She can't wait to get home and play in her "house" and it's even big enough for her 6 year old sister to play in as well!
We have the house open to a corner in her room so it offers her more room to play, but still gives it the cozy cottage feel.
I love it because in the morning she jumps out of bed and plays in her house versus waking the entire house up! Definitely recommend and the price on Amazon was amazing...$[...]!
I'm glad that I did not purchase the extra items that came in it such as the washer sink and nursery set as I think it may be too crowded the way that we have it set up, but she does have a little doll cradle and the stove inside so it's everything she needs to play house. We even will sometimes set up a portable DVD player inside so she can watch her own movies in peace.
Customer Review: Fun toy Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this little house for my daughter who is just under 3. She looks like Gulliver next to the Liliputian houses, it is very small, and the little oven that comes with it is very VERY small. I would not recommend this toy for an older preschooler, because of the size constraints.
My daughter absolutely loves her house. I close it up every night and in the mornings she comes in and starts asking for her house. She takes here babies in there and plays with them, makes us all muffins, and invites us in there to play. What I like about it is that it stores pretty compactly and I can put it up against a wall and it takes up very little space.
Assembly was pretty easy, although it is a 2 person project and took about 45 minutes. The only thing I would change is making the zippers on the outside inaccessible. My daughter has more than one time unzipped one side of the entire thing and started to take it apart.
Customer Review: We LOVE this cottage! Summary: 5 Stars
Santa brought my four and a half year old daughter this for Christmas, along with the nursery set, washer, and muffin set. She couldn't wait for me to put it together so she could play! The cottage itself is very well made, and whoever came up with the idea of color coding everything, I LOVE YOU!!!!!! All the poles are color coded, white or pink, and the connectors are also different colors for the specific funcion. Even the seams on the inside of the fabric where you place the frame is coded! I was expecting to spend a great amount of time on this, but it was together and she was playing in it within an hour! She even helped me put it together! I love the windows and chimney, and the doors have these little "latches" printed on the material with magnets inside so they really close! The curtains are a nice touch, and so far we haven't found anything we don't like about it, and she's a very picky four year old!
Customer Review: So much fun!!! Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this entire collection for our 9 month old daughter at Christmas. We also have a 2.5 year old boy who has enjoyed playing in it almost every day. Our little girl is young I know but I wanted something that she could use for a long time. She has so much fun opening the doors and turning the knobs to the sink. The chair isn't my favorite but all the furniture is so easy to put together and if it tips over it's doesn't hurt her at all. The house is very cute and easy to put away when finished. The door that opens/closes is a lot of fun for our 2 little ones to play with. I recommend this toy to all.Hasbro Playskool Dream Town Rose Petal CottageHasbro Dream Town Rose Petal Cottage: Rose Petal Nursery
Customer Review: Just perfect! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 18 month old daughter for Christmas. I wasn't so sure she'd really "get it" since the box said "for ages 3&up." She saw it on Christmas morning and gasped! It's much cuter in person than pictured on the box. It's now in our living room, and she plays in it every day, many times a day. She loves opening and closing the door, peeping through the windows, and "cooking" on the stove. I even put her other toy table and chair in it, and she has a blast. This was a big hit, I shouldn't have worried that she was too little.
On the other hand, I can see why a 5 or 6 year old may not be interested in the cottage. It's pretty small, and even my 32" daughter has to duck through the door! I'm going to say a good age recommendation is 18m-4. (And there are no small parts to worry about!)
I'm giving this 5 stars, it's just perfect.
