Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Operation

Customer Review: Frustrating!
Summary: 3 Stars

This toy is frustrating. We got it for our boy and it's nearly impossible. The "tweezers" it comes with make it totally impossible to pick up certain pieces. They need a little bit of rubber grip on the end or something. On top of that the pieces slip into oblivion within thier designated area making it impossible to dig them out. This gives me flahsbacks to when I used to play the game when I was a child. I remember the same problems. This leads me to believe that MB needs to update this toy slightly. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. Just in need of a little refurbishing. Btw, my kid still loves it and plays with it....it's just that the real playing of the game is pointless due to it's glitches.

Customer Review: This can't be the same toy I had as a kid
Summary: 2 Stars

Something has changed either the holes got smaller or the parts got smaller but there is no way this game was so hard to play when I was a kid. It is very difficult to get the pieces out without buzzing Sam. Maybe everybody is getting stupider and clutzier but my kids did not enjoy this game an iota and the parts will almost certainly be lost by the time they feel like playing it again. To give you an idea about the size of the parts ;they are about 1/4 to 3/8 of and inch. The basic concept of this game is great and if only they would upgrade the size and quality it could be a real winner but in its present form I would say forget it, go buy them some Tinkertoys instead.

Customer Review: live long cavity sam
Summary: 5 Stars

I can distinctly remember playing this game as a child and it being a part of my happiest childhood memories. for its age group (5-6, or at least an age where they won't put the small pieces in their mouth), it can greatly improve/work on motor skills and hand-eye coordination. i recently bought a new version of this game for nostalgia's sake, and found myself grinning away, challenging my now 50+ mother for a game for old times sake over the holiday. Talk about a classic game. great for all ages, especially if you want to buy your kids a classic toy, that may, in fact have been a part of your childhood that can still be enjoyed by children today.

Customer Review: This Operation Was not a Success
Summary: 1 Stars

Perhaps it was the nostalgia, perhaps the clever packaging. Whatever compelled me to buy this game, I hope you do not fall prey to the same misguided intention.

My kids hate the game. They hate the buzzer, and they hate the tiny parts that get lost in the carpet. They hate the premise. There is no educational value in this game other than learning to count money or learning that specialists get paid exorbitant amounts of money, even more than "regular" doctors.

Within minutes after we installed the batteries, the red light bulb that serves as a nose no longer worked.

I recommend you spend your money and time elsewhere.

Customer Review: Learn About The Value of Life & Death
Summary: 5 Stars

I learned everything I know about life on this game. I am a trained and successful surgeon because of it and I did not even attend medical school. My specialty is removing bread boxes and wishbones.

The fact is when performing surgery on a real human being you may be shocked to discover that tissues around the ailments will indeed make a loud buzzing sound if your surgical tweezers touch them. Your patient may suffer a "ruddy spetum" or blinking red nose in this instance which could be fatal.

This game is both educational, philisophical, emotional, nutritious as the small plastic pieces are delicious.
