Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Operation

Customer Review: FUN!!!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Operation is a game that is a ton of fun!!! In the game, you take these tweezers and try to get them through these little shapes for money. Some are easy to get the objects out of, while some are definetly hard. I believe that a lot of stuff you enjoy better when you are good at it. I gave this game 5 stars because of just that. I can get all of the objects out of the shapes easily, so i enjoy the game more. Operation really isnt all that educational, and it does have 1 problem to it- All the little pieces! There are a ton of pieces for this game and you tend to lose them very quickly. There is a sound effect when you hit the metal outside of the shape hole thingie. when you do that the guy's nose lights up. Usually that whole thing with the nose and sound effects goes too (on mine it did). Operation is a fun game that really anybody can play. Just be careful- you got to be a good sport when you play this game.

Customer Review: Operation - Don't waste your money
Summary: 1 Stars

We purchased this game for our granddaughter because our kids had it as children and spent hours of giggly fun operating on Sam. We were so very disappointed with the quality of the game. It sure isn't what it used to be. The plastic "organs" and "bones" slip right off the tweezers when you try to remove them during the "surgery". They could have at least produced some kind of grip edge on them. Also, the tweezers actually throw sparks when they touch the sides of the "operative sites". Coupled with the loud buzz, our granddaughter perceived the was going to be shocked or hurt. Even though we explained that she wouldn't be. She said, "I don't like this game." The game board itself is also very cheaply constructed. It's really a shame that they've ruined a game that was loads of fun in cutting costs by cheap manufacturing. Sadly, this is another product manufactured outside the USA and it's become junk!

Customer Review: Great FUN!!!

I can't believe all the negative comments on here. First of all you don't get shocked, it's a vibrating game. NO SHOCK! I also agree with Sheila. People now-a-days expect everything to be easy, well this game is challaging, and it's fun. My kids 5 and 7 loved this game(as well as mom and dad). It is not an easy game so if that is what you're looking for play duck, duck, goose. This is a game that requires patience and a steady hand. My kids learned to slow down, life doesn't have to happen in a second (unless it's my five year old that is too young to play and he is just going in for the buzzer...haha). And by the way who said operating on someone was easy? If you can take the time to slow down and have a good laugh this is a GREAT game.
My kids are rough on games and we have had no problems with it. The only thing is the pieces are very small and easily lost so keep them in a baggie.

Customer Review: Great Game at a Great Price
Summary: 5 Stars

Operation is a must-have for any family with a serious box game collection -- it's always been a hit at our house! The object of the game is to perform "operations" by removing tiny plastic parts from the patient's body without setting off the buzzer (each hole is surrounded by a small metal border which sets off the buzzer when the tweezers make contact). This game does require a high level of dexterity so it is great for development of those small motor skills. We accomodate the smaller children by letting them just get the part out of the patient and disregarding the buzzer. It's a fun game to play with all ages (if an adult is too good at it we make them close thier eyes right before they pick up the piece -- that evens out the play)! This game is a steal for ten dollars!

Customer Review: Don't be fooled by bad reviews. This is a great game!

On Christmas morning, this was the favorite toy of my 5-year-old and 2-year-old. They still play with it several weeks later. Understand that they also received live frogs, but they'd rather play with this. I'm sorry to say that one of those frogs died because some neighbor kid wanted me to take it out of the cage so she could look at it. It jumped onto the heat lamp and was bleeding from it's mouth or nose. It survived another week or so but then died. We did a little funeral for it and threw it into the fireplace. I'm sorry to say my children seemed to be intrigued with the idea of throwing something into the fire more than praying for their deceased pet. To be honest, they hardly even care about those frogs, but they love this Hasbro Operation game.
