Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Littlest Pet Shop Paws Off! Electronic Diary

Customer Review: 6 year old wants to throw it out!
Summary: 2 Stars

Well, my 6 year old was having fun with her "secret" password diary until her older brother and sister spoke into the microphone hole, and the diary opened right up..the magic was lost! She was in tears...devastated. Simple to open..anyone can speak any word, and it will open. The diary does keep her interest, and it is cute for any Pet Shop lover. Not much paper comes with this diary, but you can just cut your on paper to fit inside. This toy is definately for a younger kid...one who isn't writing sentences, as the paper is very small. My kindergartner practices her letters and numbers on the paper. The pet is removable...which is cool as well. Overall fun, for what it is, and the age group it is targeted for.

Customer Review: Read the reviews and bought it anyway..
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She had put it on her list for Santa and it was all she talked about. I had read the reviews but felt that because I found it so cheap that I had to get it. I mean it was priceless - the look on her face... But I found out that the reviews didn't do this product justice.. It was WORSE than the reviews. Even for the fact that I got it cheap - 18.00. I still feel that it was worth even less. It doesn't work for children. Only adults and even then you have to have a deep voice. Didn't work for me.. but did for my hubby.. My daughter played with it for maybe 10 min.. but her favorite toy this Christmas is her BARBIE cash register. NOW that WAS worth the price.. its awesome..

Customer Review: No password protected diary here!
Summary: 2 Stars

I purchased this item for my 7yr old daughter (after much begging), and WE are very disappointed. I agree with the other writers, you should choose a "short HARD one-syllable" password. She started out with "spygirl" and after becoming very fustered changed it to "max". Which worked fine the first few times, but she then decided she wanted to test the diarys "pasword protection", and used another word, and you guessed it the diary opened right up!! My daughter was devistated!! Hasbro needs to do a recall/or rebate on this item as it is now sitting in the closet. Although after a long talk my daughter learned a great lesson, not everything works like you see on TV!! That is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1!!!

Customer Review: Nice concept
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas (one of the only things on her wish list!) and she loves it! There isn't much room inside for them to store anything they write unless its just a couple of pages. The biggest problem I see is that the password recognition is very sensitive. Her password begins with a "S" and anytime someone says a word with an "S" it opens even though its not the password. So apparently it recognizes the first sound. Overall she is satisfed so thats all that matters to me!

Customer Review: Fun novelty item
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a fun novelty item - not for the serious diary-keeper, but great for my 6-year-old who wants to lock her brother & sister out of her toy. As with other reviews, the voice recognition is not great (sometimes it will open with the wrong word, entirely, if you use the same lilt in your voice as the original word was recorded). Even this hasn't diminished our daughter's love for the toy & the removable dog. Extra note paper templates are available on the Hasbro website to download/print.
