Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Lite Brite Flat Screen PurpleCustomer Review: 2 broken out of the box Summary: 1 Stars
Talk about cheap. We got one of these for my daughter's birthday and I was excited. I had one when I was a kid. It turned on when I put in the batteries (more later) but the on/off switch did not work. So I took it back and got another. Same problem, on/off switch did not work. Talk about quality control issues.
Another complaint. I would prefer the old school electric plug, but they've switched to batteries. Fine. The bulb they use is smaller than a night light bulb, yet it takes 3 D size batteries to run it. Are you kidding me? I think you could light that with 1 C in 1970. Inefficient, wasteful, bad for the environment, expensive to run.
Design could not be much worse. Find a 20 year old model on eBay.
Customer Review: OK, but hard for little fingers Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old, who loves playing with Grandma's original lite bright. SOOO not the same. The papers are hard--almost plastic-feeling, and she has a really hard time pushing the pegs through it. She lost interest in about 3 minutes, where she'll play with the one at grandma's forever! Additionally, the pegs don't stay in well, as was also reflected in other reviews. Thank goodness I only spent $10 at Target for it!
Customer Review: Not like the old lite brites Summary: 1 Stars
this toy is ok, but the compartment for the pegs is hard to open and all of the pegs go flying when it does come open. The light also does not stay on which is frustrating for a 4 year old. Also, I think it is not as easy to use the flat screen as it was the older stand up model.
One big issue with Amazon is that it is WAY OVERPRRICED. I got it at Walmart for $10. Thankfully I did not buy it on Amazon.
Customer Review: Well, there goes that idea Summary: 3 Stars
The light bright was not shipped carefully enough, and the on button was consistently pressed during shipping and the battery died. It was horribly priced for something that never turned on in the first place. The toy was marked "Like New," yet had several punch out art sheets pre used!
I was very disappointed with this order.
Customer Review: the storage bin is horrible Summary: 3 Stars
the screen is small, but adequate. The light is not as bright as the old one I used to have as a kid, but does the job. My only real complaint with the "laptop" lite brite is that the storage bin does not open smoothly. As I can't open it without spilling pegs, I know that my five year old has no hope of it.
