My 11 year old daughter requested this toy. She loves it. It is comfortable for her to pack around and still sits on its perch. She has wanted a real bird, but I didn't want the mess. This is a good substitute. It is a good electronic toy. Much easier than the "furby" requested by the older daughter years ago. It does encourage patience and reading. To really enjoy, someone MUST read the directions and understand them. Not a toy to just pick up and go with. My 7 year old daughter was thrilled to get Squawkers for Christmas and has taken him almost everywhere she goes! And all three of my daughters (ages 3, 7, 10)and my husband have fun recording messages. Sometimes the girls forget to turn him off when they go to school and Squawkers catches me off guard as I enter the room and he talks to me! It's almost like having a real parrot! He seems to be very durable so far, as my 3 year old drags him around the house when I'm not paying attention. A real fun toy for the whole family!Customer Review: Cute toy, but doesn't function like you are led to believe.

This toy is really cute, that is it. It doesn't respond half the time. Most of the time it just clearly doesn't understand what you are saying to it. The remote doesn't function properly. This thing is just another massed produced toy, so don't be surprised if it feels cheap. Overall I gave it 2 stars just because my little boy likes it for now, but gets really frustrated when it doesn't do what it is suppost to. (Just for a note: there are no "tough sensors", they are just simply buttons on the head and belly)Customer Review: Great toy for all ages!

I got this toy for my husband and both of us really enjoy it. It interacts with whoever speaks to it and has a variety of sayings and tricks. We're having so much fun with it that we haven't even begun to program our own sayings into it yet. And our bird LOVES it. It's great company for our parrot during the day when we're at work. Our bird already knows that it will "talk back" to her if she makes noises at it.
I am really happy with this toy, it was well worth the money!

We got one of these for my sister, and it was a blast. She LOVED the Tiki Room at Disney World and she wanted to decorate her room in this fashion. Now she has Fritz, and we painted her walls, and got her a Tiki comforter.
The bird was a blast.. I have not laughed this hard in a long time. We had it talking like crazy and it surprised the dog. I think this is ment for about 8 and older.
Wish they offered other Bird, or colors!!
