Customer Review: ADORABLE, VERY REALISTIC, LOADS OF FUN, ONE OF MY KIDS FAVORITE TOYS

My Son and Daughter love Squawkers the McCaw. It is very realistic and the size of a full size McCaw. He responds to the touch when you pet him or give him a kiss. He has his own personality and moves like a real parrot. He can stand on his perch or on the floor with his lifelike feet. It comes with a remote control and a toy cracker. If you put the cracker in his mouth he will pretend to eat it. This parrot does a lot of different so it's not repeating the same stuff over and over. If you play music he will dance too it, and it's pretty funny. He will answer a handful of select questions and he will also repeat what you say in a higher pitch voice. Our kids love having it repeat them, they play with it for hours sometimes. This is definitely a toy that most kids will love and play with a lot. Without a doubt I give Squawkers five stars. Purchased this toy as a Christmas present for my son. Christmas Eve we took it out of box to have it ready for the next morning. At first it worked well and my husband and I thought it was too cute. Then about 5 minutes into our playing with it, it completely quit responding. We thought maybe it was the batteries and changed all 6 of them with no improvement. And before I get the same comment the other 1 star review got, It is off of demo mode and I have read the instructions. We turned it off left it overnight and when we restarted it it worked about 1 minute and started acting crazy again and not responding to voice or remote command. Going back to store today. I do plan to exchange it as my son really loved this thing in the store. Hoping it was just a bad bird!Customer Review: Fun, but loud!

I bought this at Toys R Us and the thing wouldn't be quiet! I wanted to give it to my child for Christmas but couldn't keep it in the house because everytime a sound was made or I got near it, it talked and sang!
It was evidently in the "try me" mode and packaged so intricately that I could not see how to turn it to the "off" position or even find the directions booklet unless I opened the whole thing, which would have spoiled the giving of the gift on Christmas morning. I ended up keeping in my car's trunk, where unfortunately my child heard it and thought it was a ghost, so I had to tell her it's a gift I was hiding for her.
All in all though, it's fun and entertaining but I can't figure out how to lower the volume. Way too loud!

A great novelty item that the whole family can enjoy. Especially if you have cats or dogs. It has numerous uses for home or office and quite a vocabulary. It can even mimic your voice as well. There are some funny videos of it out there on the internet. However; this orignally sold for under fifty dollars. Needless to say I am not about to pay the current Amazon seller price which is almost double that. I will shop around and see if I can find it for original price, if not I'm passing until the next model comes out for a reasonable price and probably more features. As much as I like most Amazon offers it this is cheaper at other internet sites not to mention Wal*Mart.

I bought this for my 6 yr old daughter. It is a very cool toy-even my husband and I like it! There are several sensors on the bird that respond to you "petting" the bird, he can learn personalized phrases, and you can feed him.
My daughter carries it around without the perch and it seems real well made, and it is easy to put back on it's perch.
I would recommend this toy to anyone. The best part about it is that you can easily turn it off when you're done playing (to conserve batteries) or when you're sick of hearing him.
I do wish it had a volume control--but that's only a minor issue with me.
This is a great toy!
