Customer Review: Not what I expected.

Of course what I expected was a toy that worked properly.
My daughter was so excited to get this game. Unfortunately it works very poorly. The air pressure to hold the trunk up is terrible. My 5 year old is of course too short to stand the trunk up herself, so I am constantly up and down standing the trunk up during her game play.
The butterflies shoot out in a big poof when its first started, a child can only catch one at a time. Then after the first initial poof one single butterfly will shoot out about every 5 minutes. My daughter has literally went to her room to play or do something else and says "Mommy call me when another butterfly is ready to come out"
And with these large delays in butterflies, you are left to believe they are all out and you can begin another round over again, but then you open it up to put the other butterflies back only to find that over half of the butterflies are still inside.
I definitely would not reccomend this game to anyone.

Customer Review: Enjoyable fun for 2-4 year olds

I purchased this item from Target. I was trying to find a toy my 3 year old as well as the 5-9 year old cousins who were visiting at the time could enjoy. The 5-9 year olds got a little bored with the toy rather quickly but my sweetie continued to play and play and play for an hour. He would have liked to play longer, but the fresh 4 C size batteries I also purchased from target had run dry. Most toys eat through batteries fast anyway, but I found an hour of play on 4 Duracells to be less than satisfactory. Another minus is when all the butterflies are out, prep time for the next run can be kinda long because you have to gather the butterflies up, take the truck off, put the flies in, put the trunk back on and hold the truck up yourself for a few minutes. I guess 5-6 minutes to get the ball rolling is worth the smile on your young child's face when they're catching the flies, but please save this for the younger ones and make sure you have spare batteries ;-) Overall, I am satisfied with this toy.Customer Review: Make Your Own Butterflies for Elephun and Up the Fun!!

I bought Elefun for my 2 1/2 year old daughter, who is totally delighted at catching the butterflies. She squeals with joy every time the butterflies erupt. I handmade her a massive crop of new butterflies in girly colors out of tissue paper, and we have an absolute explosion of butterflies when we turn the motor on. I took one of the regular tyvek butterflies supplied with Elefun apart and used it as a tracing pattern and folded my tissue paper repeatedly into a thick square and it made 40 butterflies in one shot with the scissors. I simply twisted and crimped the butterflies in the middle by hand, and WOW, was it easy and fun. They fly so high because they are lightweight! My daughter liked to help "make" butterflies (she mainly smashed them up, but its tissue paper, so who cares if she's having fun!) and I had a crop of over 100 in less than 15 minutes, in all of her favorite pinks, purples, yellows, etc. We love this toy, and are having a great time seeing our daughter so darn excited!!Customer Review: More Power

We bought Elefun for our daughter (4 yrs) for Christmas; she's been wanting it for quite awhile. What a disappointment.
I should have read the online reviews before purchasing it! The first two times we played, the butterflies came out of the trunk at a good rate. Since then, we've had little success at getting the butterflies to actually fly out.
We did set Elefun on top of a book to provide a firm and level playing surface, which helped a little bit. I'm guessing that the batteries already needed replacing after two sets of play.
Elefun is great for counting skills and coordination. It also allows the kids to learn cooperative play, as they try to catch the butterflies alongside each other.
My daughter was so excited to receive the game, and it is so disappointing that it doesn't work as well as we hoped. It would be great if it had an adapter, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat, if one was included.
