Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro DreamLife Interactive TV Plug-In Game

Customer Review: pretty good toy for girls, but it isnt THAT good.
Summary: 4 Stars

well, ive had this game for a looonnnggg time. its fun, you can dress up your girl, do activities, go to school, its pretty entertaining, but my friends quickly got bored with it after 15 minutes. the bad part is that you cant actually go to school, or through rooms, its not that interactive, you just are in room, but your girl doesnt actually move around in it, also, the quality of this game is pretty bad, with simple illustrations, the music is awlful, but overall i think this toy is awesome for pre teens or younger: it teaches you about doing chores, spending money and time wisely, socializing, and being more outgoing and a well rounded girl. but yeah, some of the stuff you get to say to other virtual girls in the story line is very shallow like "i love you necklace!"

still, if you have a girl who likes this toy, buy it for her, it has a clver place for safe keeping the remote, pretty inexpensive, nd alos easy to set up and beat. you only have to complete 100 days before you win the game.

its prety harmless, so give it a shot.

Customer Review: Its virtual
Summary: 5 Stars

I think it is the best game because its virtual it describes you.You can go to school and be the real person you can't be in real life. Some people are shy and don't have the courage to talk to people when they play this game it was give them the confidence to do good in school and be better as a person. It will also keep your daughters out of trouble they'll be able to stay home and be on this but don't worry parents they'll be really good to do first because it sets a bad ex. to the game.I really wanted this game for christmas if my parents get for me it will enhance my confidence to try to be in honor's math even though I'm already in honors reading and writing and I already have my life planned out this boost my confidence even more to make sure i really want it I want to be a nurse in ob and gyn it means I'm interested in babies.I want to go to college in Maryland and hopefully live with my best friend Vicky. This will show the real world.Good luck to any girl who gets it.You can set your mind to anything you want to don't be a no one be a someone.

Customer Review: Crummy video, vapid content, no educational value
Summary: 1 Stars

My daughter (age 8 1/2) has been begging for this for months, based on the constant barrage of advertising on children's TV. I quickly checked the reviews here and saw that it was highly rated and inexpensive, so I bought it for her. I am stunned and appalled at how awful it is. It's similar to any one of the online sites such as Be-bratz, WebKinz, and Club Penguin, in that you create a character, move through various rooms and areas, do tasks and chores, earn money, and spend it on stuff. The video quality is awful compared to any of those sites, the music is tedious. The graphics are simple and ugly. Worst of all are the blatant stereotypes in the content - you can be "athletic" "funny" or "brainy," you can say dialog like "I think I just failed my math test" and you can have boring conversations with your friends like "I like your necklace, did you make it?" The main purpose is to get money and buy stuff. I wish I could throw it out the window.

I will add that my kaughter is delighted with it, so far, after one session.

Customer Review: Once, not twice
Summary: 3 Stars

This game is really fun. But only the first time around. I got it for christmas and fifnished almost all of it in the same day. I have played more that once through and there's not alot to do. So when it's a school day you have a littel time in the morning so I thought I'd do ome chores but the bus honked and I pushed the button like 2 seconds lat and said I missed school. When I actually made it to school for the forst time I thought maybe I;d get to expirience the school day but you hit the button to get to the bus it goes to the school screen, you hit another button and in a second it says the school day is over. You have to pick premade messeges to talk to people and other than that all you can doo is talk to your friends (not fun), go to dances and parties(all you do is talk), go to the mall, change clothes, and do sports (all you do is hit a button to practice). Some of the things I looked forward to doing like the sports, and school, you dont actually experience. If you are going to buy this, DON'T. It's not worth it.

Customer Review: Well...
Summary: 5 Stars

When I first saw the comercial, my friend and I were really excited, and we wanted the game wicked badly. That same day, my mom brought me to Limited Too. There, we saw Dream Life. I was so happy, that I brought it up to my mom, asking if I could buy it. She looked at the price tag, and shook her head "no". At first, I was mad at her, but then when I saw the tag, I couldn't believe how much it was! It was 50 bucks! I didn't blame my mom.

A few weeks later, I was discussing the game with my mom. She told me that my friend's mom looked at the reviews, and said that they were pretty bad. I decided to check it out for myself, and as it turned out, they really weren't THAT bad. They were actually pretty good. My friend's mom probably wanted another excuse, since she won't let my friend read any books when they talk too much about boys, or have dating in them. Since in Dream Life, you can (apparently) have a boyfriend, so that's probably the reason. Well, I still want it, disregarding the few bad reviews.
