Toys and Games Reviews of Hasbro Baby Alive Wets 'N Wiggles DollCustomer Review: Sweet Doll Summary: 5 Stars
I got this doll for my 5yo daughter for Christmas (2007)
It was a compromise between the baby alive that poops Hasbro Baby Alive Doll, Caucasian and the sip and slurp Hasbro Baby Alive Sip 'N Slurp Caucasian Doll that isn't mechanical (= no batteries) Guess which one I wanted?
I decided that I could handle buying batteries as long as we didn't have to deal with the 'poop'.
It turns out she is very happy with it and I love the sweet baby noises that it makes. Doll is a little loud without clothes on (which is the state my daughter insists on keeping her in)because of the speaker on her tummy/chest.
She makes a funny mechanical sound right before 'peeing' which I guess is some sort of pump action, I don't know. I thought something was wrong at first but I think that's the way it works.
Overall I am happy with it and so is my daughter. It brings out the mommy instincts in her which I think is educational (as well as having to change diapers)
Customer Review: Fun for Kiddo Summary: 4 Stars
My 4 year old received the Baby Alive Wets N' Wiggles doll from her grandparents recently. Although my daughter loves it I'm finding it requires a lot of guidance and assistance. I'm sure she'll get the hang of it, as it's only been a week, but she has a difficult time getting the bottle in the correct position. If the bottle is not in the perfect spot, Baby Alive will not drink the bottle and will fuss. This frustrates my daughter.
It is also difficult for little hands to put the new diapers on snugly so that it captures the pee properly. I end up being the one putting on the new diapers, which is constantly.
One other thing. Watch out! If Baby Alive hasn't really peed yet, you're in for a soaking. My daughter thinks this is hysterical. She will spray her pee at you all at once. It shoots about 8 inches from her body. Amazing. And this is the girl model. I can't imagine how funny the boy model must be. LOL
Customer Review: Very cute - but she scared my daughter at first Summary: 4 Stars
Baby Alive Wets and Wiggles is adorable. She has a very sweet face and makes really sweet coos and movements. Her bottle is very cute and her fingers and legs are soft. We bought this doll for our 3 year old. She immediately liked the big eyes and sweet sounds Baby Alive makes when you squeeze her bracelet. She also liked feeding her the bottle. Once Baby Alive cried we took off the diaper, just in time for the doll to pee on my daughter - the pee shot right out of the doll and onto my daughter's dress. My daughter freaked out and burst into tears and was afraid of the doll after that. She came around eventually after we told her that it was pretend pee and showed her that she had to wait a bit before taking off the diaper! Parents may want to test this out for themselves before showing the doll to young children to avoid them getting scared of the peeing action! The only other negative is that the doll is a bit heavy.
Customer Review: Perfect Alternative to Pricey Baby Alive Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter age 5 asked Santa for a Baby Alive. After looking at the other reviews on both Baby Alive and Baby Alive Wets and Wiggles, I couldn't find any reason not to purchase this baby. Wets and Wiggles is less expensive, makes cuter sounds and has better realistic baby movements. The number one feature that my five year old wanted was a baby that needed it's diapers changed. This doll is perfect for that. You can not go wrong with this one.
As a side note, my 7 year old daughter also asked for Baby Alive. I chose the Sip 'N Slurp for her. Another very affordable baby that can also drink and needs diapers changed. Together, both dolls cost less than one Baby Alive. This is another great idea for parents of two girls that routinely ask for the same thing. Hope this helps!
Customer Review: Great "Real"Doll Summary: 4 Stars
My 4 year old got this for her 4th birthday and she really loves it.Its a very durable toy, she's been dropped on her head several times and has had her arms and legs bent and twisted many different ways. The doll moves really well when her bracelet is pressed(she does have an off button!) and makes clear sounding, not too loud, not too soft baby noises. But if your child is like mine, she'll want to feed it like 4 times a day to change her diaper after she tinkles(BTW,make sure when said child changes diaper it is on correctly or Baby Alive will tinkle on your carpet. But thank God its only water!).It only comes with 3 diapers.I found refils at Target for $4.00 for a 6 pack. But,jeez, her diapers per week would cost me more $$ than my daughters when she was in diapers!
