Toys and Games Reviews of Guess Who? Board GameCustomer Review: A childhood favorite! Summary: 4 Stars
My best friend was in the hospital recently so I went to the store to get a game to play with her. At the time I found a travel-sized version of this game and, this being one of my favorite childhood games, picked it up in hopes that she would like it too. Come to find out, it was one of her favorites too! Same with several people who saw it over the next few days. There is something about the simple, fun game that seems to appeal to everyone. After that I went ahead and found the original sized version on Amazon and ordered it.
The great educational value of this game is that it encourages children to think about features and colors in a more analytical light than they may have before. Such practices can lead them to think more about other things at school and at home, helping in every class from art to English.
Customer Review: How low can you go? Seriously? Summary: 4 Stars
I have bought this game for my daughter's 5th birthday. She is easily discouraged by other games.
In this one I don't have to work hard to loose. This is fun for two people, some other games are boring for two people. This game is fun in general.
I don't give 5 stars only, because the way the manufacturer presents this game out of the box.
You have to assemble it yourself. It is painful, takes a long time. Tell that to a child waiting to play. And , please, don't tell me that this is do it yourself because we save storage space selling this disassembled. Well, at least it will fit in the box assembled, and that is a plus. And the frames keep falling off the stand. You saw my title. That is what I thought when I opened the box.
After the initial pain this is a candidate for a favorite game.
Customer Review: Only one problem Summary: 4 Stars
This game is the perfect one to describe "family game". The rules are simple. The questons are easy to think of. Each round is pretty quick. WHat more do you want in a game? The object of the game is to guess who your oppent picked before they guess who you picked. You ask question such as "Does your person have a hat on?" If they answer "yes" You can close all the little cards with people who dont have hats on. The drawings are detailed and funny. The only problem is the duribility...after about a month of use the little cards with the possible peoples names on them fall out. The solution? Tape them to pieces of paper and when you know they are not the correct answer, turn the card over. This game is all around fun and a great but if you have children under eight or just want a light game to play.
Customer Review: Very Poor Quality Summary: 3 Stars
I am a speech-language pathologist that purchased a different version of this game years ago. It is a great educational game for teaching deductive reasoning and asking questions properly. After misplacing the older version, I purchased the version now being sold. The quality is INCREDIBLY POOR. It took forever to assemble - getting the cards into the slots is a frustrating, fidgety, time-consuming task. Then I had to use tweezers to get the counter attached. Worst of all, the pieces holding the faces are constantly falling off, even when they are being used appropriately and gently by the players. The kids I work with love this game, but they - and I - are very frustrated with having to interrupt our play because the pieces keep coming off. The older version was much sturdier and did not have these problems.
Customer Review: Great game, but I hope you never need replacement parts! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very fun game. My 7-yr old received it for Christmas and her friends, siblings, parents, grandparents, etc. all enjoyed playing it with her. A few weeks after getting it, however, a couple of the frames got broken and new ones had to be ordered (only $3). This would be acceptable if we had actually gotten the parts and were able to play the game again.
First we received a letter (from Hasbro) saying that it would take longer than expected, then several more weeks later, we received a letter saying that we wouldn't be able to get the frames at all.
Since we now have a useless game after only a few weeks of play, I would have to rate the durability of this game (and the customer service) a zero.
***Update - Eventually, we did receive a brand new game from Hasbro.
