last week i was on vacation with my family, and me and my three cousins played tons of boardgames. we got the scrabble folio, and it was really fun because first off, your tiles don't get messed up from the slightest knock of the board, and they stay on your letter rack much easier too. another thing was that we could close up the game board and store everything as it was, so that if we needed to leave, we could come back later. the tiles never 'popped' off the board, but sometimes they would come a bit loose. i also liked the 'miniature' feel of the game, and the whole thing was really durable and 'professional' looking. if only they made a monopoly gamefolio...Customer Review: TWO WAY tray placement

I love this folio travel edition. I would add one thing to the directions. The tiles can be placed on the tray holder in two ways. One for playing and making new words and the other for storing. If you place the titles side ways like you were to read the letters vertically the letters can come out easy for moving the letters around to try new combinations to find words. All it takes is a slight move of a tile forward from the back to take the tile out to move to another space. Than to store place the letters in a straight line to click onto the tray tightly. My girlfriend and I have become Scrabble addicts but found traveling with the game a hassle. This looked like the perfect solution and for the most part it has been. Though a little small for my taste, that is what makes it so portable. The tiles lock on the board and the whole thing folds into its own carrying case, the tile holders close and lock into place so you can stop and continue at any time. The only real negative we found is that after several games some of the tiles no longer lock into the board which is annoying but not insurmountable. If you travel alot this is a great way to pass the hours at the airport or on the plane.Customer Review: Travel Life Saver

My wife and I are retired but travel 50,000 miles a year -- often to get a "grandparent fix." Whenever we travel, we have our Scrabble Travel Set and paperback Scrabble dictionary with us. It has been a real lifesaver. We play Scrabble while sitting in airports, in our seats on the airplane and wherever we may be on our travels. I suggest ordering an extra set of letters as they require some dexterity because of the smaller size of the Scrabble board. I have climbed under airplane seats looking for missing letters. Scrabble is one of my favorite games, but I really am not impressed with the quality of this travel edition. The board refuses to lie flat, making it nearly impossible to stick letters in the rows bordering the hinges. The letters are difficult to pop into their spaces on the board. The racks, for some absurd reason, have 7 individual slots in them, so shuffling tiles is a near impossibility.
This is highly unimpressive. If I want a word game when I'm traveling, I like the Quickwords travel edition MUCH more than this. I love Scrabble, but I'll leave it at home until they come up with a better travel edition.
