I bought Butterscotch for Christmas for my 5 year old daughter. Although I was incredibly impressed by the quality and features of the toy, after the initial excitement wore off (about 1 week), my daughter hasn't touched the horse. I think the fact that it doesn't walk or move (other than the head), is a disappointment for a child who wants a "real" horse. Butterscotch is well made and interactive (and easy to assemble), but I think it's more entertaining for the adults who've never had this type of toy growing up. Got "Butterscotch for my daughter, age 3, at Christmas. She still plays with it and talks with it daily. Just replaced 1st set of batteries this month but she is turned off each night cause she "needs her west". Love the way she neighs when the lights come on or child makes a noise in her room. Teenage daughter thinks its kinda creepy the way it looks and blinks at you..."too life-like". Bought the accessory pack in June so now Butterscotch has her own socks and blanket. The horse is VERY big but not really heavy (So she can join us in the living room then be carried back to the bedroom).Customer Review: Great fun for my grandson- and Me!

We got the pony for our little grandson- although it is marketed for girls, he saw one at a store and fell in love with it early in the fall. I was able to get one for the retail price, thankfully; and my husband and I put it together with no problems, once we laughed at the obvious "Godfather" deja-vu of the horse's head detached in the box!
I have had a BLAST with this "animal"; the only complaint I have is that it does not walk and cannot follow me around the house! When Noah first saw it, he just clapped and squealed, he was so happy! This has been worth evey penny already.

My daughter wanted this pony SO bad for Christmas last year. She was 4 then, and loved horses. She spent an hour in the toy store playing with it, so we thought this was perfect. Well, she thought it was the best thing for about a week, and she never really played with it again. It has been sitting in our playroom for a year. She is now 5, and still doesn't play with it. Our other daughter, 2-1/2, doesn't play with it either. Their friends come over and look at it for a few minutes, and they don't play with it. I really wish we didn't spend so much money on this toy.Customer Review: Butterscotch for Zoe

I bought this horse/toy for my grand daughter because she loves horses as much as I do and I won't have to worry about this one kicking, biting or throwing her. And she won't have to muck out the stall. She adores this horse, brushing it, feeding Butterscotch her carrot and you can see the joy in her face when she's riding it. She is amazed when it responds to her voice with a wiggle of its ears, a whinny or with a stroke of her little hand on the horse's back, Butterscotch swishes her tail. I would've given anything to have had one when I was a little girl.
