Toys and Games Reviews of Fur Real Friends Biscuit My Lovin PupCustomer Review: Fun for a few days - lost its charm!!! Summary: 4 Stars
Biscuit is a great idea gone bad......
The price is also high for what this thing can do....
My daughter got this as a christmas gift and was very excited. She used it constantly for 4-5 days and then it went in the closet. She says that he doesnt listen to her...he doesnt do half of the commands that he should. She is 6 years old...
I wanted to make sure we didnt get a lemon and thus I proceeded to test it out... Turns out she is right. Biscuit listens, but it has to be a loud and VERY clear command.
I love the look, the robotics, and the general idea...but if it cannot hold a 6 year olds attention then to me it is another product gone by the way side.
I think more interactivity and some more commands would have made this a great toy. Our friends daughter has LUCKY the Wonder Pup.....and she loves it. It responds to almost every command it should accept. I agree that Lucky and Biscuit are two different items in terms of robotics and looks....but Lucky listens. I have a feeling we will be looking at lucky soon.
Since this is a great idea in the right direction...I will give it a 4/5... It is also built well, in terms of quality.
Customer Review: Better than a real dog. Summary: 5 Stars
Biscuit was a Christmas Present for a 5 year old little girl who fell in love with him immediately.
On command from her Biscuit will turn his head from side to side while he is listening to her, his tail wags, he lays down, sits up and barks and shakes hands, all the things a good pet does without all the mess. He is so real we find ourselves speaking to him and patting his head. Much better than a real dog.
He will lay down at her command, she lays down next to him, puts her head on his back and they watch cartoons and fall asleep. Just like a real dog, he is amazing.
She likes to brush him and scratches him behind ears and he whines to let her know he likes it. She is learning to take care of a real pet while playing with Biscuit but with Biscuit around she may not ask for a real dog again.
Biscuit did shed when she brushed him but eventually stopped once she had all the loose hair off him.
The best pet for a child that cannot have a real pet because of allergies, or living in an apartment. A Hasbro Toy so we know he will be around for a long time.
Customer Review: Great for kids if you don't want a real pet!!! Summary: 4 Stars
My 2 year old daughter LOVES THIS!!! Okay, the commands are tough for her to say clearly enough for them to work, but that's what her big sister (5 yrs) and brother (11 yrs) are for. Our 2 year old loves puppies. She got this from Santa Claus and what a hit! Although there's not a whole lot you can do with him, he is still a very cool toy. If you get your hand or face near his mouth our nose, he sniffs at it just like a real dog would. He begs, chews when you give him his dog biscut, sits, lays down...very cool. Also, if you leave him on and turn out the light, he wimper for a while and eventually lie down. Sometimes I forget this and I go into my daughters room and turn on the light and there he is - sitting up (he reacts to the light). Very cool. Only thing I wish is that he'd walk. It is kinda a pain to have to move him all the time. This entertains my daughter for quite some time before she grows tired of it. And she's always ready for more fun with it later! Great toy if you aren't expecting too much out of it!
Customer Review: My kids love Biscuit Summary: 4 Stars
We purchased Biscuit (on sale!) for our 3 children this year as their BIG Christmas gift. Our 4 yr old has been asking for it ever since the ads started playing on tv for this xmas season so when we saw it on sale we snatched it up. I have to say, i didnt expect it would be worth the money, but i was wrong. The dog really DOES listen to commands (on a slight delay) and he is cute as he appears on tv. My 4 yr old liked it-our 2 yr old twins LOVED it.
The only cons would be that you CAN hear the mechanical movement every time the dog moves and i am not sure how much wear and tear this poor dog can take from a rambunctious child. (the joints seem durable to a point, but i'd hesitate to say he'd survive a 5/6 yr old sitting on him or dropping him)
The pros would be that the sound effects are realistic.
He follows the same commands a REAL dog would probably take years to learn,
no mess
all 3 of my kids (and all of the adults in our household) played with this toy for hours and hours.
Customer Review: Disappointed, seldom knows commands, works more like defective toy Summary: 1 Stars
Purchased Biscuit [...] for my 8 year old daughter who loves dogs! She is allergic (to the real thing) and so I bit the bullet and paid this high price hoping it did all that it said. I don't know if it is in fact defective or if others have the same issues, but the dog does exactly what it wants -seldom the command you give it. My 8 year old is heard screaming the commands over and over in hopes maybe Biscuit may just be deaf or dumb perhaps. She is so frustrated that she doesn't even want to play with it. So it sat in our front room and just looked at us. Not a [..]decorative item I plan on keeping. Hasbro, fix this thing, revamp it or charge [...] for it. Again, maybe it is defective - keep searching reveiws to see if anyone else has similiar experiences. So bye to biscuit, it goes back today. For someone looking for an alternative (though small), I found an exceptional interactive pup, try lucky (I believe wonder dog). It probably does 3 times the commands that biscuit is limited to.
