The Easter Bunny brought this yesterday for my 3.5 year old son. He went nuts when he opened it, having seen the commercial occasionally.
He played it every minute we were home yesterday - by himself. He woke up this morning and played it. This morning I called over a few cousins, it's vacation week here, and it entertained 5 kids ages 3.5 to 9 for an hour. Okay, truth be told, it entertained the parents too (ages 33 to 41). It was a blast to play and fun to watch (especially when there are 5 kids standing on one mat and making a silly face).
It teaches shapes, colors, words, and following directions - compound directions - this thing is the best toy ever.
I love it, the kids love it, and I highly recommend it.

My daughter received this for her 5th birthday & she absolutely loves it. When she wanted to play it, I didn't have any time to explain how it worked so I just showed her how to put out the mats & turn the machine on & her & her friend jumped right in & figured it out. Within minutes they were 'swimming', dancing like a monkey, eating spaghetti, etc...& having tons of fun doing it! I enjoyed watching them play it & reminescing about playing twister & Simon says as a kid. I can see this will be a favorite for both our kids & their friends. It does take up a large safe place to play because there is a lot of jumping & dashing to the pads/mats. Purchased Cranium Hullabaloo mostly for my preschooler, but my kids (ages: 3, 5, 9) all enjoy this game very much. Great for bad weather days when they need to burn off some energy!! Instructions are voiced through the box/unit instructing kids to do different movements and think about the items pictured on floor pads. The game is kinda like twister. Very little parent guidance is required, so adults can join in the fun or turn them loose. If I were to give a downside, I would say that the sound on the box is sometimes difficult to hear, especially when the kids become excited and loud...but I guess you could say that teaches them to listen when they should. My 2 1/2 year old twins received this game for Christmas 2006. I knew nothing about it. When we finally got around to playing it, they couldn't stop. It is a year and a half later and it is still their favorite game. They are very active kids and love to spin and crawl and jump to the colors, shapes or category. As a teacher, I thought it was a great learning tool for them and in the winter provided much needed physical activity. My only complaints are that 1) when the mats are left in the box, they do smell of plastic, and 2) the volume isn't loud enough for the laughing and yelling that is going on during the game. Our 5 yr old fell in love with this game seeing it on a TV commercial. The instruction it gave, "Hop to the Spaghetti" stuck with her, and that's what she's always called the game...so we all do. She got it a year ago for Christmas when she was barely 5. The verbal instructions given by the toy are very clear and easy to understand. It is a huge success here, as I love watching all my kids have fun playing it, boys and girls, ages 5 - 17. There is always lots of laughing and fun. I would highly recommend it for families who need a game to span different ages. Everyone has the same chance at winning. The older kids don't have to 'throw the game' so that the younger ones can win once in awhile. It's great.
