Toys and Games Reviews of Cranium Hullabaloo

Customer Review: Long-lasting, energetic FUN!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this game for a family gathering, and the six kids (ages 2.5 through 6.5) could not get enough of it. They all were stomping and twirling and laughing in another room (by themselves!) for hours. No grownups required - but we couldn't help ourselves. The kids were having so much fun, we occasionally joined in also.

Each round lasts only a minute or so, and every time there is a potential "winner". Everyone has equal chance to win each round, though, and I found that the kids were rooting for each other to win rather than trying to win every time themselves. The game then starts again, and changes every time to stay interesting. The game turns itself off if the kids stop playing - but that just won't happen for quite a while.

Big fun, exercise, good sportsmanship, a variety of ages cooperating, and a neglected TV - what more could you want from a game?

Customer Review: LOVE this game!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my kids ages 3 & 6 and they LOVE it. They will get it out to play and have a great time with no arguing. It is a very simple concept and something they can play without needing help with directions or rules. For the first week, they played it all the time!

I teach Creative Movement for preschoolers and this was great fun in class as well. I disagree w/the poster that says it has no educational value. For preschoolers, it teaches color, shapes, words are posted w/the pictures and categories are used. My only recommendation would be to have the ability to set it to repeat commands or space them out longer. For my younger kids, they were barely getting to the right pads & it was off to the next direction. They needed a little more time to think about where to go. Overall, an excellent game & lots of fun to watch or play!

Customer Review: Review For The HULLABALOO Game...
Summary: 5 Stars

Hullabaloo is a great game! My 4 year old received this game for Christmas. Him and my niece played for several hours!

There are several different pads to step on. The pads are different colors/shapes/pictures on them.

The game will say things like "bounce to a triangle" "fly to blue" "hop to a food" and will throw in things funny little sentences to repeat. Each game had different sets of things to do and run for different lengths of time. Some include several instructions and end up looking a little like twister...ie..."put your elbow on a square and place your foot on blue and put your knee on a food" but for the most part, they stick to one or two instructions at a time.

The winner is the person who is on the square the game picks at the end, and the winner is told to do a funny dance, bow, etc.

Customer Review: Best game for preschoolers EVER!
Summary: 5 Stars

We received this game for my three year old son's birthday, and it has been the only game that allows for his attention span and activity level. The game does teach colors, shapes, and various themes (musical instruments, animals, etc). Most importantly, it has taught my little guy that he has to stop and pay attention to the next set of instructions. As I also have a sixteen month old, I really appreciate the fact that the gameplay is not interrupted if he hits the purple "start" button repeatedly during our gameplay. My little one is also hearing impaired, and the game has been excellent for listening and recognizing instructions. He doesn't quite understand the color and shape concept yet (too young at 16 months), but he does enjoy "spinning" or "rolling" to a new pad. Honestly, this game can be enjoyed by almost any age!

Customer Review: Review for Cariboo and Hullabaloo
Summary: 5 Stars

We bought Cariboo two years ago, and it was an instant hit with our two daughters, then 1 and 3. Apparently there is now a new version where you can make it a little more challenging for older children. I wish they'd sell the extra cards for that separately. But this game has held up to hours of use and abuse, and we all love it.

Santa brought us Hullabaloo this Christmas, and my girls, now 3 and 5, have played it every day, sometimes together, sometimes with their father or me, and sometimes by themselves. It's a great game - gets them moving and listening to directions. The Hullabaloo pads are made of foam rubber, or something similar, so they don't get wrecked from constantly being stood on, and the game has a volume control for when things get a little crazy. This is definitely a new favorite for us!
