Toys and Games Reviews of Connect FourCustomer Review: Way over priced for such cheap build quality. Summary: 2 Stars
This game is a fun and quick game for two, but I would only value this game at less than $10. The construction is too cheap and flimsy. The two supporting (blue) sides have holes to slide and attach to plastic tabs on the yellow game board. The tabs break easily and then the game is no longer usable. It would also be good to have extra game pieces included as some may be lost. To replace mine which had lost several game pieces and now has broken tabs, I am looking for a cheaper alternative or, even better, one that is built better.
Customer Review: Tic Tac Toe's Older Brother Summary: 4 Stars
Take your traditional child hood game and rev it up with more power! Connect four is similar in many ways to its cousin, Tic Tac Toe. Like Tic Tac Toe, the challenge is to line up four of your tokens in a row, while simultaneously preventing your opponent from doing the same. Also, like Tic Tac Toe, there is a solution to Connect 4. By solution, I mean there is a way to guarantee that neither player wins, and I mean GUARANTEE. The challenge comes in finding that solution. HINT: red must play in the center column first.
Customer Review: Not durable enough, especially for smaller kids Summary: 3 Stars
We got this as a gift for my daughters who are 3 and 6, and it was fun while it lasted. Unfortunately, it did not last very long. I realize the age recommendation is for 7-year-olds and up, but I knew that my daughters would be able to grasp the concept, which they did. I just wish it was more durable, because they did like it. It fell apart in just a few months. We tried super-gluing the legs back on, but it didn't work. Just be aware that it probably won't last very long. It is cheaply made.
Customer Review: Withstands the Three Boy Test Summary: 5 Stars
I have three sons ages 6, 7 & 9 and this is about the only game that has remained entact for longer than one week and is used almost daily. The whole family enjoys playing and it is one of the most popular games at the afterschool program my sons attend. It's easy to play, simple to set up, doesn't have a ton of pieces that get lost or broken, you don't need to have a set of instructions every time you play and it helps develop strategy skills. I would highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Connect four Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very fun game. I had it for my children, and I am sure within a year or so, someone (maybe me) will buy it for my granddaughter. She is only 2 adn 1/2 years old but can already read some - mostly by menorization. She read the book to me instead of grandma reading it to her. Anyhow, she has lucky ducks and I also got her the memory pooh cards. Thank you. I hope it is as durable as the one I had for my kids, and they even had the travel size connect four.
