Toys and Games Reviews of Connect 4 FolioCustomer Review: great travel toy Summary: 5 Stars
My son (just turned 5) really enjoys playing with his 7 yr old sister. They both are great at strategizing by creating their own rows to win while also blocking each other. It's a good way to make children use critical thinking skills and work on focusing continually. This is great for summer, play it outside, play at the hotel, bring to a restaurant while waiting for your food to arrive. This is really worth buying (and I bought it for under $10 from Amazon a couple of months ago, look for a sale!)
Customer Review: Good travel game Summary: 4 Stars
The pieces are a bit small (1/2" diameter), but work well for small hands. My kids are a bit too young for it now (6 and 3 years), but had fun with it anyway. They do OK with adult guidance, but can't seem to grasp the concept well enough yet to play on their own. We haven't had the opportunity to do so, but it seems like a good travel game for slightly older kids. 7-12 is probably the right age category, if I had to guess.
Customer Review: Connect 4 Game Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great game involving skill. It comes with a plastic frame, and small chips. You have to try to get 4 in a row. The players have to put their own color chip into one of the rows in the frame. Gravity pulls them down to the bottom, which makes it harder. You must get 4 in a row in any which direction (Horizontal, Vertical, and Diagonal). This will amuse and keep your kids busy for hours! Recommended for ages 6 and up.
Customer Review: well designed Summary: 5 Stars
As other reviewers have written, Connect 4 is a wonderful, old fashioned, educational, and most importantly fun game. But this particular set (the zip up travel version) is much better than the tabletop sets that are today made very cheaply. In those sets, the bottom often falls down, allowing the pieces to fall out mid-game. This has a much better design, and in additional, provides storage for the pieces.
Customer Review: Fun game Summary: 5 Stars
I played this with my teenaged cousins and actually enjoyed it. This is pretty fun for kids and adults too. The portfolio design is great for taking it on trips or when the kids go to sleep overs or visiting.
I recommend it.
