Clue by Hasbro
Toys and Games Reviews of ClueCustomer Review: LOVE IT Summary: 5 Stars
I am a board game fan by heart and this is a great addition to my collection. It is just as fun as all the other clue games, perhaps even better. Some people that have played it with me say that it is not like the original, but all the differnces have little or no effect on the gameplay.
One differnce is the people. They have first names and backrounds, but that has absolutly no impact on the game. Also the pieces are different, which doesn't matter either.
Another differnce is that there are intruge cards, which either give you the ability to do something out of the ordinary, or a clock card. If you draw the 8th clock card then you are out of the game.
But most of the things are the same, so I think it is really fun.
By the way DO NOT get the vintage version of this game! I gave to my friend and he hated it! I had to go out and get this version of clue for him.
Customer Review: Not the Clue from your childhood! Summary: 2 Stars
I remember Clue from my childhood, and wanted to make memories of playing the game with my own kid, so I bought the game for Christmas. I expected to introduce another generation to the joy of discovering that the culprit was Colonel Mustard with the rope in the drawing room. Boy, was I in for a shock! The game, presumably, has been updated for the generation growing up with trashy gossip of starlets and overpaid athletes. Every character has overgone a makeover, and now are actors, athletes, etc. Instead of a stately manor, the crime takes place in some sort of nouveau riche Hollywoodesque mansion. So, instead of an Agatha Christie type mystery, you get something that seems ripped from an episode of "True Hollywood Story" on E! network. So, if you were looking for the Clue game from your childhood, keep searching and pass this one by!
Customer Review: Overall fun to play but the new time clock cards are frustrating Summary: 4 Stars
The best part of the updated version is that you no longer have to be in the room you are including in your accusation to make an accusation. Instead, you make an accusation from the pool that is located in the center of the game board to finish the game.
The worst part of this updated version is that they include intrigue cards that you must draw from when you roll or land on a question mark. This is ok and adds an interesting twist to the game however, in the card pile are 8 time cards. When the 8th time card is drawn, the person who draws it dies so they are automatically out of the game and have to show all of their cards to everyone else. This is very very frustrating if you die after you have already figured out the who, what and where and are just trying to roll to get to the pool.
Customer Review: Great Board Game! Summary: 5 Stars
I thought this was an awesome update to a classic game. Some people are taking the "Board game" WAY to seriously, i mean what part of modern day twist don't people get. Anyway I really liked the addition of the intrigue cards and the clock cards, and how not only the host can be dead. The weapons selection is a bit weak but not enough to make me hate the game completely. I mean if you were in a mansion and you wanted to kill someone, wouldn't you grab the closest thing you could fing IE: a trophy or something else for that matter. I really like the new rooms and how they used real people and not like the old style.
Customer Review: Updated version; lots of fun Summary: 5 Stars
We played Clue as kids, and found that this updated version (with some different rooms and weapons and a couple new rules), really freshened the game up.
We bought the game as a gift for our 9YO. I thought it would be too complicated, but as we played through a game, she caught on, as well as her 10YO friend. The rules seemed a little overwhelming, but as we started playing it all fell together, especially since we had the rule sheet on the table to refer to. In the next 24 hours, the kids played it two more times. We have a million games in our house, and this immediately became a favorite.
