Toys and Games Reviews of Clue Harry Potter

Customer Review: Great Game, Even for Non-Fans!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a fantastic new twist on a classic game, and can be loads of fun, even for non-Potter fans! The original Clue game has always been a huge favorite with my family, and this is the fourth or fifth version that I own. Unlike other games that are themed around a certain topic (like Monopoly for example), where you;re playing the same game, just with a themed board and themed pieces, with the themed clue games, you are playing a different GAME all together! That's why I don't feel silly buying several versions of the 'same game'. they all have a different twist! I own HP Clue, Electronic Clue, and the original. I'm still hunting for Clue Museum Caper, that was a fantastic game too!

Customer Review: YAY!!
Summary: 4 Stars

I started asking for this around Halloween for a Christmas present. Sadly gougers were upping their selling prices then. Spending $75 on a board game just isn't doable for us so I kind of forgot about it. Then my wedding anniversary came up in February and my husband surprised me with it. I nearly peed my pants with joy. :D The basic game is pretty much the same but the addition of house points and help cards and the dark mark made the game enjoyable for my whole family. I do agree that an addition of color coding the rooms would have been helpful, but honestly it didn't detract from the game that much.

I am really enjoying the game and am very glad that I got it :D

Customer Review: Not much good
Summary: 2 Stars

I don't think the makers of this game played it before putting it on the market. If they had, they would have seen it is almost impossible to not lose your house points (and lose the game) before you find out the answers. You are constantly losing 15 points at a time, starting with only 60 or 70 and no way to get more. You spend all your turns trying to get on the stars so you will get help against the curses. What happens is people lose their points very, very fast but still have to continue to show their cards to the opponeents for a very long time, which isn't fun for ANYONE. We had to alter the game to start with more points.

Customer Review: Harry Potter Clue!
Summary: 5 Stars

We'ver really enjoyed this game. It's a bit different from the original clue game because you can lose house points and that can take you out of the game just when you think you've got the mystery solved, but that turns out to be a nice twist.

Players don't really have to know about the world of Harry Potter to play the game and win, but fans of the septology will enjoy it.

Clue is also a great game of skill. Although there is certainly an element of luck in the game, it's mental skill and the ability to make inferences and deductions that helps someone win.

I definitely recommend the game.

Customer Review: It's Clue. It's Harry Potter. Use Your Imagination.
Summary: 4 Stars

The gameplay is a bit more complicated than in the classic Clue game, but the fundamentals still apply. It will probably take a fan of the Potter novels and movies to enjoy the changes enough to play this more than a time or two. This particular version of Harry Potter Clue won't really stand up to a lot of wear and tear, but I saw there was a more expensive one here on Amazon. It might be worth the extra 10 bucks to pick that one if you plan on putting your new toy through its paces. That being said, my assistant testers and I found the new functionality and rules to be quite engaging if you use your imagination.
