Toys and Games Reviews of Chutes and LaddersCustomer Review: Don't make them like they used to Summary: 3 Stars
Found it for almost $4 cheaper at Walmart...be sure to shop around so you don't end up stuck with it like me. On top of that, this newly redone version is very flimsy, easy to rip and wont last very long, unlike our old board games made of real cardboard and actuall pieces, not just paper-like cardboard cutouts...I would expect this to be something sold at a discount store or the $1 store. They just don't make them like they used to.
Customer Review: my preschooler does NOT like this game! Summary: 1 Stars
Terrible!! I remember playing this game as a kid and really enjoyed it and so we bought it for our almost-4-year-old daughter. She loves Candyland, UNO, matching games, Old Maid, Go Fish, Sorry, etc...but really does not like this game. We gave it to Goodwill after playing one time. The board is very hard to decipher (nothing like I remember as a kid) and it's simply too boring for her. Do NOT bother with this game.
Customer Review: A great first game for kids! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great "first board game" for kids, who will probably enjoy it from ages 3-5 or so. Extremely simple to play, players take turns spinning the spinner and moving the number of squares indicated. Kids get excited by the unpredictable ups and downs. I award it 5 stars for educational value because it teaches counting, taking turns, and fair play (when these are reinforced by an adult playing along).
Customer Review: Taught me how to count Summary: 5 Stars
I remember playing this game when I was a little girl and I was the only one in my kindergarden class that could count to 100 because of this game. I hate hearing parents complain that younger children can't play this by themselves, get on the floor and play in with them. How else are they supposed to learn? You can't expect them to fiqure it out by themselves. When did parents get so lazy?
Customer Review: Chutes and Ladders promotes kindness to cats! Summary: 5 Stars
Last night I had the fun of rediscovering this old favorite, redesigned since I played it in the early 80s, I found it to be as much fun as ever. However, I would have liked to see more children to pick from, four is far too few.Great positive messages of being kind to cats! I lost all three games I played, but was outranked by superior minds (hee hee).
