Toys and Games Reviews of Chutes and Ladders

Customer Review: Kids Love It
Summary: 4 Stars

Well, Chutes and Ladders wasn't my favorite game as a child but I certainly enjoyed playing it. I have the "Dora Edition." She's a character I never heard of before purchasing it, but every kid I showed it to knew Dora the Explorer. Yes, I agree with another reviewer, the pieces are not very durable. Neither is the board for that matter but you get what you pay for and this happens to be one of the cheapest games around. Every child I played it with liked it which is an important indicator of its worth.

Customer Review: My son and I played this constantly...
Summary: 4 Stars

My son got this game for Christmas last year and we played it over and over! I expected him to be more stressed about sliding down the chutes but it was a really good experience for him to learn about "chance and luck". He learned that sometimes you get lucky and get to climb a ladder and sometimes you are unlucky and have to slide down the chute. I think it was a valuable lesson for him to learn and am glad we played it so much. He is a much better sport now when we play games!

Customer Review: Just what I remembered it to be
Summary: 5 Stars

I played this game as a child and with my own children and now I am playing it with my grandson. While some of the graphics have changed slightly it is still the game I remember. My Grandson enjoys it just as much as my sons did and we all have great fun together. In addtion it helps to teach them sharing and waiting in turn. My grandson really loves going down the "slides". I think the classic games of childhood are great ways of bringing the past into the present.

Customer Review: Tall ladder followed by long chute... every stupid time!
Summary: 5 Stars

Everyone reviewing this product refers to the 4-year-old people who usually play this game. What about me? I'm 27 years old and I still love it! Of course, I'm routinely beaten by my girlfriend, Naomi, who always seems to land on square #80, which means an instant victory. Still, the agony of my repeated defeats teaches me valuable lessons in frustration management. Don't let the suggested age group (4-7 years) get you down! Buy Chutes and Ladders anyway, I say.

Customer Review: GOOD CLEAN FUN
Summary: 4 Stars

I remember this game when I was a kid. Now my daughter is 4 yrs. old and wants to learn to play the game. I think there is a lot of educational value to the game; there's poetential to teach a child number recognition and maybe even simple adding if they are older. My only gripe is, I wish that the spinner and playing pieces were sturdier than just cardboard. Candy Land had the right idea when they made the playing pieces out of plastic.
