I agree with the people who say the pace is too slow and the controls are terrible. You can never skip ahead, even if you decide to play a different game within the dvd - you're forced to wait through the entire game cycle. And trust me, kids will often want to bail out on a game before it's finished, because they're just not much fun. The board game version is ten times better.Customer Review: Great game for kids!!

My kids are 7 and 4 years old...they just got this toy for christmas and they absolutley love this game...it's been one of the most popular toys of all the toys they got at christmas...it's super easy for the kids to follow and it's really fun...the best part is there's like four different games they can play so it never gets old there's always something different which they love!Customer Review: Fun and we COULD skip the commercials

We have this game and were able to skip the commercials at the beginning by pushing the enter button on the remote. During hte game we showed our two-year-old which button to push when the picture of the remote came up, and she had fun doing that part too. We really loved it, and it's great for her age range. I have 5 grand children ages-12-10-5-4-3 they all love candyland. The older ones make it into a fall all over the floor. But the younger ones choose this game over the many games we have to play. It teaches them colors, they get exercise. I would highly recommend it. We never paid near the price listed ;-) watch auctions, used works just as good as new.Customer Review: skip this one.

my kids actually enjoy playing this game but I find it so annoying I encourage them to do something else. you have to use the remote far too often, and our DVD player is situated above the TV so the kids holding the remote doesn't work. If you want a game like this, try Hullaballoo, by Cranium. Same idea and so much more fun.
