Toys and Games Reviews of Boxers Or Briefs?

Customer Review: Great party game
Summary: 5 Stars

We bought this for $19.99 Dec. 2007. We haven't seen this in any stores and after reading the reviews, decided to get it. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be a "family" game b/c some reviewers said it was "adult party" themed. This is not the case. There are some more adult-type humor (eg; questions about farting), but there's nothing inappropriate (there's no sexual content or anything, so you can play this game w/ your kids).

Everyone we've played it with has had a blast with it. it's a great party game, family/friend game, or couples just getting to know it each other. It's a lot of fun. The best description would be like a combination of Apples to Apples and Imaginiff, both fun games that we own.

The icing on the cake is that there's no game board (just a dice, question cards & tokens that you collect when the "it" player picks your answer), so you can play this laying on the couch, just relaxing.

This game has become a huge hit with friends. Another (different type) game suggestion is Sequence, a highly addictive, fun strategy game that's great for 2-6 players. See my review on Jumbo Sequence.

Customer Review: Brilliant, hilarious, very creative...

This game is a riot! To steal a word from a great series of beer commercials, it's BRILLIANT! We've played this game 4 or 5 times now, and every time, it gets funnier. There are moments where you're fairly certain whatever beverage you're enjoying is going to come shooting our your nose as you or one of your friends read the lines from this great card-based game. "I can't do it Captain, I don't have the power", "I ran over the Taco Bell dog", "I'm big where it counts" and other lines have all left us in stitches. This is a whimsical, entertaining game that draws from both pop culture and history to get some of its best lines, and the ability to customize cards makes the game perfect for close circles of family and friends to be able to poke fun at one another (but surely only in jest, right? -- I don't really need a diet, do I Heather?)

Kudos to the designers of the game, and thanks to the R man for picking this game up for us to play. Will be very entertaining for our New Years' Eve party! Next, we'll need an additional set of cards from the folks at Hasbro/Parker Bros. to add to the collection of whimsy. Keep up the good work!

Customer Review: A "must have" party game!
Summary: 5 Stars

We first played this at a friend's house and laughed so much and so hard we couldn't believe it! It's easy enough for anyone to play (we had a 7yo join us at one point, and even though it's a little more advanced than that, she had a great time).

The only downside is that once we played the game about 5-6 times (remember, for HOURS at a time - we never just played a quick game), we eventually got through most of the cards and some of the fun (but only SOME!) was gone because we knew what cards to give to each person to "win" the hand.

That said, we have also taken to "editing" the cards on the fly, basically creating our own cards, which adds to the fun. This is in addition to the 25 or so blank create-your-own cards that come with the game, which you really should take advantage of. We were hesitant, but after playing a few games, we knew what kind of things to write down and now some of those are the funniest choices.

This game has been tested with many different people (young and old, good friends, aunts and uncles) and it's always a hit. It's definitely worth the $20.

Customer Review: Fun game but beware!
Summary: 4 Stars

I picked up this game recently and my family really enjoys it. It's a slightly more adult version of Apples to Apples with a more personal perspective. Loads of fun!

BUT...

The new edition of this game has a flaw that I'm finding unforgivable. To cut down on printing costs, all of the questions from the previous 400 cards have been printed onto 200 cards, double sided. Not only does this mean that there are fewer cards to choose from, making choices limited, it also makes it harder to choose an answer (as you have 14 options with your 7 cards). On top of that, it's hard to tell what side of the card the judge is supposed to consider, especially if a card accidentally falls off the table.

Yes, there is a slight color variation between the sides, so you could say at the top of the game that only the white or slightly bluish side of the cards count, but where's the fun in that?

I think I'd LOVE this game with 400 (or More!) cards, but as it is... not so much.

Customer Review: For Fun People ONLY!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This game is NOT for Comedic Corpses. If you play this game and do not enjoy yourself there is something wrong with you and/or your game night guests. I stumbled across this game on Amazon about 6 months ago and read all (at the time)16 reviews. Based upon those reviews and the fact that thru those reviews I could nearly hear the laughter in their voices, I decided to purchase the game. Glad I did! I've played this game with several different groups of my friends as well as family members. Ages varing from 8 to 52. Everyone loves it! I gave this game a 3 star rating for education because you can learn abit about those that you play the game with. My son plays the game and he loves it. He was 8 when we got it and is now 9. I suppose he learned a few new words and of course sounded them out. He fit right in and played very well. So I suppose you could even say that that was educational. However, if you are looking for an "educational" game, then this ain't it sister! I highly recommend this game! Enjoy!!!!!
