Toys and Games Reviews of Boggle

Customer Review: Unmistakably the finest word game ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is unmistakably the finest word and thinking game made. The whole concept is so simple and uncomplicated. The great thing about this game is that it is so versatile - yes it has a set of rules, but as the saying goes "rules are meant to be broken." You can change the game around to make it easier for younger players or more difficult for older players. As a child my whole family could all play the game at once even though the ages ranged from 7 to 47! Great for the whole family and very educational.

This game is great at getting your brain going and making you think!

Customer Review: Boggle on the beach ..it rocks!
Summary: 3 Stars

My boyfriend and I, both in our 30's, played this on the beach for hours..we even had a stranger, who was sitting nearby with his friends and coveting our game, come and ask to play. It's so easy to whip out and start playing and it gets your mind working. Boggle rules. However, this particular set is way over-priced considering I also paid shipping. It's cheap and plastic and the letters don't fall neatly into the grooves. It's worth about 5 bucks but I paid over 20. Still, until the plastic cracks, I'm getting a lot of use out of it and making everyone at the beach jealous.

Customer Review: Boggle is tons of fun, but also competitive.
Summary: 5 Stars

Boggle is a game that I never liked as a child, because I couldn't compete (i.e. win) against my parents and older siblings. Now I love it. Therefore I suggest that the optimum age range is 28 (actually, I have been enjoying it for the last ten years, so there is some flexibility here). The game is durable, as long as you don't step on it, but be aware that it is very loud, for 10 seconds once every ten minutes. (That is a warning to parents before purchase, but also to anyone who likes to play games at night.) Very educational: a good reading and vocabulary skills game.

Customer Review: Full contact Boggle
Summary: 5 Stars

Our family consists of 1 14 year old honor student, 1 17 year old honor student, 1 third grade teacher, 1 manuscript editor with a degree in English, and 1 attorney with an undergraduate minor in English. Our games are as close to "full contact sport" as you can get without blood on the furniture. We all love the game. Be assured that the teen-agers hold their own. We have been having these games for about 6 years, but that may end because the kids are getting too smart for us. Boggle is one of the best family and youth games I have encountered.

Customer Review: Fun times
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this game and have for years. With so many words to make and such variety with who you play against and what letters might come up, it's always a different game every time you play it. The only drawback is the noise when shaking up the letters in their box. I would like to see a version that wasn't so irritating in that respect. As a tip, if the noise bothers you and you play the game a lot so it's worth the effort, put some thin felt strips in the box top (the kind with the self-adhesive backing) so when you shake it, it makes less noise.
