Customer Review: A nicely done DVD game version of the TV show.

The "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" DVD game is really fun and very much like the show, but it has just a few downfalls causing it not to be a perfect game.
You first start off by choosing if you want a 1-player game or a head-to-head game which will consist of two teams of however many people you want. After that you select one of twenty games, which each have their unique questions. You then will be shown a board of 10 school subjects ranging from math to social studies to music, and each subject will be a from a certain grade from 1st to 5th. If you have two teams, each team will have the same subjects but different questions for each subject. You select the subject that you want to see the question on, but the questions are always either true/false or multiple choice between three possible answers, making the game much easier. But, don't be fooled, for the questions can still be quite difficult. In order to help you when you get stuck, you are allowed to choose a "student" at the beginning of the game, and you can peak at his/her answer, copy his/her answer, or be saved by the answer that they have written down in the case that you don't know what the answer is. After answering all ten questions, you will be given the subject of the Million Dollar Question and asked if you want to try to answer it. In between all of this gameplay, though, Jeff Foxworthy, your host during the game, will often pop up with cheesy jokes that have a laugh track with them, and you can't skip through these. They may be funny the first time, but they get old quickly. Also, he has to explain the game to you each time you play, making the experience longer than it needs to be. Another slightly annoying thing about this game is that it is very focused on you saying that "you are not smarter than a 5th grader", and it is made such a big deal that it, too, gets old quickly.
Overall, the twenty games on this DVD go by quickly, but they are really fun to play. Aside from the repetition of comments in this game, it is fun for kids and adults alike (although adults might find it slightly easier). A great family, party, or solo game to play!
