Toys and Games Reviews of The Game of Life Twists & TurnsCustomer Review: Fun, but not the best thought out game Summary: 3 Stars
The electronic banking feature in this game does make it a lot easier and more convenient to play. Furthermore, the gameplay is much more fast-paced than the original Life. However, the game is not well thought out - you are absolutely limited to four players (no more), the jobs that earn the most money in the game require no degree (which can be very unfair), and worst of all - the power switch on the life pod is very inconveniently located, making it completely possible that when someone is handed the pod for their turn, they can easily turn it off, thus ending the game.
Customer Review: Regular Life much more enjoyable! Summary: 3 Stars
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with this product. My daughter said she wanted it so I bought it for her for her birthday. She is 8 years old. That night we played the game, me, my son (9 years old) , my daughter, and my other daughter (11 years old). Most of the time we spent sliding new cards in, pushing buttons, explaining to my daughter over and over again how to do it, and figuring out what to do and how to work it. I will admit my daughter and son thought the new game was cool, but i find it to be annoying. My advice is stick to the old game.
Customer Review: Life lessons and no money or tiny people! Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this game to replace my 10 year old daughter's old version!
Somehow the money was always being left out of her old game (or used for other stuff!) We did have to keep the directions handy the first time we played, but it was very easy to use and easy to increase game time. My daughter seemed to "get" the idea that she has to choose education, job, family or fun much better with the new game board layout!
The game was fun and moved quickly, with an opportunity to talk about how expensive life is, and how each day is a choice!
Customer Review: Fun for all ages Summary: 5 Stars
Santa delivered this for Christmas and we have enjoyed playing it with family and friends. You can decide how long the game will last by the amount of years/turns you play.
But, be careful with the electronic game keeper. We were on turn #19 out of 25 and the electronic device was accidently dropped. We lost the whole game. It turned off. Too bad. Perhaps the company could encase it with a material that has better grip. I'll send that suggestion to the company.
Good Luck in LIFE!
Customer Review: Too many directions Summary: 1 Stars
Growing up I loved the game of Life. My kids got this game for a gift and we were excited to try it out. We were all very frustrated that every time you landed on a space you had to read directions. Nothing in this game is self explanatory. We've tried to played it twice and have stopped before finishing both times. This may be a good game to play with teens or adults but for an 8 and 10 year old, it is just too complicated. I'm contemplating buying the original Life game for their next gift.
