We have had regular Scrabble games, but the Diamond Anniversary Edition makes the game even more fun. There are raised grids that keep the tiles in place. Also, you can turn the board towards each player as they take their turn. There are little wheels on the bottom of the board for this purpose. The tiles are black with silver print which are easy to read and nice to look at. The board has storage compartments for the bag of tiles and the tile holders. The tile holders are curved and it's harder for others to see what tiles you have. The board folds in half and has a built-in handle which makes the game very portable! Everything in this game edition is the modern answer to the problems of the classic edition. The table rotates to each player, the carrier holds the letters and the rails. The rails are curved to keep the neighboring players from seeing the letters, the grid has place keepers to hold letters in place... The only thing that would make this game any better would be to have a built in electronic scrabble word checker and score keeper! That is probably in R&D! Opened the game and played a round with glee on Christmas afternoon. Will keep this in use for years to come. great way to package the Scrabble game, love the clear red tile holders, the black tiles with silver letters that go in a black velvet bag and how there are 2 pull out drawers to hold your supplies in but the best thing of all is how there are little wheels on the outside of the case ( that arent very noticable ) that allow the board to swivel towards the next player....also love the suitcase design, more compact and easy to travel with.... a perfect gift for all Scrabble playersScrabble, Diamond Anniversary EditionCustomer Review: Perfect 1st Scrabble game

This set is so perfect for our kids!
The set up is easy enough for them and i love that even after a year they have yet to lose a piece unlike many other board games we have. Also this one has really stood up to their handling of it again unlike many other games and cards they have.
They do not mind the difference in colors because this was their first board.
Now for the serious scrabble player i can see how they would be disappointed in some of the features
and the fact the colors are different.
For us this was the perfect 1st Scrabble game to get the kids to love playing!

This game works great! I even used it on a picnic table and the wheels worked fine, it turned just fine!
No score sheets included but no big deal. In future Hasbro may invent this compact "easy to take along" game, with a way to close the game if you dont finish. Most regular players can finish a good game at one sitting, but if something comes up, you can't save the game :( BEST PART - no more big box, it is very COMPACT, & I really like the curved racks.
Overall rating is great game great model and have already purchased 2 for friends!
