I play a lot of Scrabble on the go (at coffee shops, on vacations, etc.) and this set is perfect for that. Small enough to tote around, but folds out into a full size, rotating scrabble-board in a durable hard shell. I also have a smaller travel-scrabble, but I haven't used that since I got this one. The smaller one is hard to put the tiles in, hard to take them out, hard to keep open and flat, and just doesn't feel like old-fashioned scrabble.
The only thing I don't like is the colors of the board. They are too bright and flashy, I'd prefer something more old-fashioned like a woodgrain print or something. Scrabble is supposed to be boring, it doesn't need a cheezy red-white-and-blue color scheme.

this is a good product. integrated storage (2 trays) is well designed, bag in tray for tile transport helps prevent tile loss, tray itself is large enough to present tiles for the game, other tray holds the racks with room to spare, seems durably constructed (time will tell). board indents help keep tiles in place.
the only improvement i can think of at this time is: the transport (folded) size is about 10" x 15", i think it could be reduced to about 8.5" x 15", making it more compact. anyone willing to pay the price for this particular version knows the game and its value and doesn't need the logos on the sides of the open board to be as large as they are.

I bought this for my boyfriend as a gift. We've played it several times - it's been a lot of fun, which was the goal of the game. The quality is good as well - it works the way you would expect. The board and tiles are easy to read and durable. The tiles stay in place, which is a great feature of this version. Another great feature is the spinning base, on which the board spins with ease. Finally, the way the game folds up into itself is quite convenient. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I've been quite happy with the game! It's worth paying the price for this versus the original Scrabble, and you get a good quality item for a reasonable price. Enjoy!!!Customer Review: Great game

I am not an avid Scrabble player but I came to like the game through some friends. This new Anniversary Edition is quite pretty to me and I don't mind the colour changes at all. The rolling wheels at the bottom makes it very easy to rotate and the grooves for the tiles prevent letters sliding out of place when the board is moved. Also, I find the drawers that store the tiles and racks very cool too, only wish it could hold the dictionary. Oh, the portable handle at the top is quite neat. My friends are so jealous and they want one too. Looks a bit durable too.
Lastly, I can see where the finish on mine wasn't perfect but overall I have no complaints.

I love SCRABBLE but I am disappointed with the DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY (60 year) Edition of the game. Perhaps I expected too much based on the wonderful 50 Year Edition of SCRABBLE. I love the 50 year edition and play it often so I jumped at the chance to add yet another SCRABBLE game to my collection. The manufacturer did have an innovative board design which makes the game more portable. The board folds in half to become a hard plastic case with built in handles. Unfortunately, the tile racks are cheap, there is no timer and the colors on the board aren't attractive. I doubt that I'll play with this version of the game unless I am traveling.
