Customer Review: Interesting scrabble edition

I wanted a scrabble game with grids so the squares don't slide around, and I also wanted it to rotate around. This one is handy -- it folds up easily and opens easily, then there are two drawers holding the game pieces. I think it stays closed with a magnet inside because there aren't any latches, you just pull it open and push it shut. I also wanted a regular scrabble game (not the super one with quadruple words, it takes too long!) And so this edition solved both issues. The wheels are built into each of the four corners so you don't need the extra "lazy susan" piece on the bottom. The only criticism I can make is that the letter trays are curved, I guess for privacy, but for some reason this curved design doesn't hold the squares as well. And we like to play with 9 letters, and the trays only hold 8. But I have a lot of other editions and have switched out the trays so no big deal there. All in all very snappy looking and a nice edition to our game collection.

This is the third scrabble board that I have brought. I brought two paper board ones at the local "Toys R Us", and after a couple of months of playing, it start to show wear along the middle where it folds. I found this Diamond Anniversary Edition when I was doing Christmas shopping, and it was on sale for half the price. When I receive it, it is a little larger than I expected (didn't read the description). They change the board's color, but it's still very vivid, and I got used to it just after a few games. The best thing about this edition is that it has inserts to secure the letters so I don't have to worry about messing up words when someone/thing shake the board or table. Since the tiles are neatly secure, I don't have to pay so much attention on how I put the the tiles. I have big hands but this is very important for a neat freak like me. Also, the board is also turnable, and have to drawers under it to store the tiles and racks. I would strongly recommend this edition. I only wish I have brought more when it was still on sale.Customer Review: A great buy!

I got this for my girlfriend for Christmas. It was such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up. It hasn't disappointed. It's very well constructed, with good rubber wheels to allow it to rotate that won't scratch your tabletop. The board itself is very nice looking, with recesses for each piece that are just deep enough to keep the pieces in place, without them being so deep you have to turn the board upside down to get them back out (as my mom's edition does). The letter pieces themselves are black with bright silver letters. And the game board has two very large drawers underneath that can hold all four letter-holders, the bag of letters, the rule book, a small pad for score keeping and a pen. Overall, it's an unbeatable value!
Also, if you buy the Official Scrabble Dictionary The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary [OFFICIAL SCRABBLE PLAYERS] [Mass Market Paperback] at the same time, you might still get a discount (I did).

We have several versions of Scrabble and this one is a great compromise between the small travel size and the large tabletop games. Considering this is the Diamond Anniversary Edition, though, the surface of the board is a bit cheaper than on the previous ones. That being said, the storage drawers are large and give you plenty of room for the tile pouch and tile trays, and the curved trays are a great "why didn't someone think of this before?" idea! The black and silver tiles are classy and our daughter loves the diamond on the "blank". The only reservation I have about the game is the stretchy bands that hold the two halves of the board together. It seems to be a good idea and is very functional, but obviously we haven't had it long enough to see how the bands will hold up over time. So far, so good. It was worth the price from Amazon, but don't buy it elsewhere, other places are charging anywhere [...]
Scrabble is one of our favorite games and this one was a good purchase.

After playing scrabble night after night with my 9 year old and my Mother on the "cheap" $8 version board, we decided to upgrade to a board that would swivel and keep the letters on the correct sqaures. After looking over all of the different Scrabble boards offered, I decided on this one. It is wonderful!! It folds in half with a handle for easy carry/travel, it has two drawers, and it has small wheels to swivel to each player with grooves that actually hold the tiles so they don't slide. It's the little things like these that can make a game so much more fun (especially for the adults). The one and only downside is that the four letter holders only hold 7 tiles, and my family likes to play the version with 9 tiles, so we had to switch out with our old set, which wasn't a big deal, but if you don't have an old set, make sure you're aware of this, because it wasnt' mentioned anywhere. Overall, it's an A+ game board for Scrabble!!
