What a treat to see my old favorite listed in the electronic-medium of an e-commerce site! Game Boys and other new hype can't compete with the fun of beating your competitor because you're SMARTER than they are! And how better to get smarter than by playing Scrabble?!! Many people are repelled from this game merely because it is a word game. They think to themselves 'my children won't play this, it looks boring to ME!" When in fact, this game is addictive. You may go into the game despising it, but when you come out, you'll want to play again and again, striving to beat your opponents, and bust out zebra on a triple word score.Customer Review: Get the deluxe edition instead

The great thing about the standard edition is its low price. But, come on, if you can afford it, and you play Scrabble with any regularity, upgrade to the Deuluxe; you won't regret it. Especially if you have a cat!The standard edition is flimsy cardboard and the letters go flying everywhere. If your cat jumps onto the table, there goes the whole game!

It's Scrabble! How can you go wrong?
This is the classic board, with simple racks and a flat board. Functional and inexpensive. The only real annoyance is that the tiles can get skewed/disorganized on the board while you're playing since they don't have the raised grooves that the deluxe boards do. Still, perfectly manageable.

the only thing that's tricky about this game is keeping all of the letter squares on the board while turning the board to see it from different angles. it's a snazzy game, though! it's just as fun as those magnetic poetry sets, only you win points against your friends and family members, ... points to make THEM PAY FOR CHALLENGING YOU!!!
