This particular 4x4 Rubik's Revenge cube broke apart after
about 2 gentle turns. It had to
be returned by a disappointed purchaser.
I would have wanted to know that durability
can be an issue in some cubes.
The ratings for 'fun' and 'educational value'
are just estimates, assuming cube can
hold together.

My ten year old spent not more than 30 seconds on this cube before it fell apart in his hands. First one block fell off, and then the others rapidly came apart. Luckily we have all the pieces so we can return this toy for reimbursement. I purchased the rubik's 4x4 as a gift for an individual who had mastered the 3x3. The 4x4 was frustrating for him and challenging at times but he had it solved in about a week. Now, he is trying to master it. Soon, I will purchase the 5x5 for him. For someone who has mastered the 3x3 the 4x4 is a must have. I bought this for my younger brother to use while he's at summer school in another city and he LOVES it. He's already great at the first cube and can solve that one in 33 seconds. My son had mastered the 3x3 Rubik's cube, so for Christmas I bought him both the 4x4 and the 5X5. His sister also found a 2x2 so he has a whole series of Rubik's cubes stacked up. He has now mastered every one with the help of YouTube videos! What a retro thing that has come back as a popular teen item!
