Toys and Games Reviews of MonopolyCustomer Review: Monopoly, A classic and fun game... Summary: 5 Stars
Monopoly is probobly the most famous, classic, and fun board game out there. It's game of both chance and strategy. I enjoy playing it at family gatherings because it brings the family together while we do something fun. You can even learn a thing or two from the game. Unlike other games that take forever you WANT this game to take forever. The excitement in the game makes it so much fun. It also educates children about economics as does the SimCity series does. The only problem with the game is the losing of peices which always seems to happen. Be careful when putting away the game so that you don't lose anything. Overall the game will be played during family reunions everywhere and everyone will have fun...usually. WARNING: Don't get serious adults to play Monopoly with kids because they take it too seriously while the kids just want to have fun.
Customer Review: A SLICE OF AMERICANA THAT STILL REMAINS Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best board game created in the 20th century. The artwork on the Chance and Community Chest cards is so simple and yet so elegant, just as my childhood, and that of others in my generation, was.If there is one thing in life that I, as an adult, sometimes miss, it is the opportunity to play Monopoly. No other game, whether it is board, video, or online, will take its place as an enjoyable pastime. I consider myself fortunate to have memories of competing against relatives and friends with this game. The thing about Monopoly was that you could play it with most anyone who could at least count money and make fictitious purchases. In general, it is not too hard or tedious (Many had this particular problem with Scrabble), nor is it simplistic(like some of these games you might see on the TV screen).
Customer Review: Most Famous Game Ever Summary: 5 Stars
Plain and simple, Monopoly is the most famous game of all-time. And if there is a greater game out there, I'd love to see it. Just think about it --- Boardwalk, Get Out of Jail Free, Community Chest, the kooky game pieces --- they are all classic Americana. Relatively easy to play, Monopoly is also educational. Where else can kids -- or adults for that matter-- learn about money management, real estate and the ups and downs of life in such a fun filled environment? Fun, afterall, is what games are all about and Monopoly has been thrilling players the world over for 70 plus years. In fact, I can't think of a better way to spend a cold, rainy day than to spend it with a couple friends, a few snacks and a long game of Monopoly! Great for families, although perhaps a bit difficult for children under 10.
Customer Review: The most classic board game of all time Summary: 5 Stars
There's no doubt that Monopoly is the most popular and best known board game ever made. Everything about it is a true classic. Everything from just choosing what your character will be out of metal characters such as a cruise ship, a wheel barrow, a car, etc. to buying property and placing hotels on it in order to drain money from your opponents, is as classic as it gets. Monopoly is definitely a game that anybody no matter how old they are can enjoy. It involves strategy, and even some luck, and it's a lot of fun. The only downfall is that sometimes it can take a long time to play a full game of Monopoly and that some people, especially kids, might get bored with it and want to quit. I recommend anybody who likes playing board games to get Monopoly more than any other board game ever made.
Customer Review: Monopoly! This cheap version not what you remember! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought Monopoly because my sister took our family set of the game. I shouldn't have let her have it! This cheap version of the game doesn't compare to what you're used to! It feels flimsy and the box is too small.
The bank tray isn't large enough to hold the money so it's just a wasted piece of plastic. You can try standing the money up but it doesn't work.
The chance/community chest cards are white (the tops have color).
The property cards are the same size as the other cards (small).
The board doesn't fold in half, it folds in quarters and doesn't lay flat.
This version doesn't contain the guy on the horse token or the cannon token.
I'm returning this junk. You get what you pay for.
