Toys and Games Reviews of Hamusuta the Happy Hamster in BallCustomer Review: Great as a toy for pets!! Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this and thought of my yorkie at home. She is extremely smart and used to have a similar battery rat toy that would mesmerize her for hours. She was able to grab that one with her teeth, so it broke in no time.
I guess it's the terrier instinct, but she is OBSESSED with the Hamusuta hamster toy. I love it because she can't always open the bubble to get the hamster out, and she plays and exercises for hours chasing around the house.
She loves this toy, and I am already planning to buy several more. The bubble latch has started to come apart a little bit, but this is the best dog toy I have ever found. I know it's for kids too, but it is excellent for a smart dog.
I also have a minature schnauzer, but he isn't interested. I think the terrier instinct is just brought out by this cute toy.
I am interested to see what other produts Westminister Inc sells.
Customer Review: Lots of fun from this little thing Summary: 5 Stars
I do not know why kids are so attracted to the little hamster, but I find it wonderful. My daughter played with if for five days in a row, and she is still very interested in it. Even adults seem to get a kick out of this cure rat. And it does not go to the bathroom or eat cables in the home!!! Sure, we had to change the battery (one AAA) often at the beginning, but for the fun, and for the price of this little thing, it is all worth it! Highly recommendable.
After a year or so, I am getting a second one as my daughter broke one of the wheels, and the price has gone down from $11 to around $6!. Also, please do not let your children put this toy close to their hair, because it will get caught in the wheels' mechanism. This might be evident for some, but not for all. All little kids need supervision while playing with the hamster, anyway.
Customer Review: Hamusuta! Summary: 5 Stars
Hamusuta! Just the name implies the hours of fun our four month-old Maine Coon kitten Eli has playing with young master Hamusuta (assuming Hamusuta is the name of the hamster, as well as a male hamster and not a female one). For a kitten like Eli, this toy offers a lot--mental stimulation, fascination, curiosity, active engagement, and perhaps, a little philosophical musing on real life vs. toys, as it's interesting to me, at least, to wonder if Eli understands that Hamusuta is a mere toy and not an actual hamster (because this toy is pretty life-like, and if I were a cat I think I might easily confuse it for a real hamster!). So, interestingly, he seems to understand that it's just a toy, and doesn't get too frenetic around it, usually just content to follow it around with his eyes and paws. Very cute, and well worth the purchase!
Customer Review: Great lil toy for cats! Very cute! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very easy toy. The battery took a little time to figure out. You have to just pull the entire wheel assembly from the furry body then have a small philips screw driver to unscrew the battery holder. It is just a round piece of plastic that goes over the battery once installed to prevent the batter from falling out.
It gets around pretty good. It uses 1 AAA battery.
When not in the ball it steers toward the left and will get stuck but in the ball he just keeps rollin and it looks super cute.
It does make some sound. Enough that our older cat did not want to play with it too much a little curious but that about it. We have more fun with it then the cat! lol.
Anyway...great price (...) with free shipping.
Get one...they are fun!
Customer Review: Too Real! 3 & 4 Year Olds Love it! Inspiration for Zhu Zhu Pet Summary: 5 Stars
My Great Gran gave my daughter (almost 3) and my niece (4) these hamsters in August 2008. At first, we thought it was a cat toy. She is 91 after all. Turned out to be great fun for my daughter and niece. Felt real and looked real. Quite cuddly for a small robotic. As another reviewer said, it works best outside the ball on a hard surface, but the ball is great on carpet. The girls played with them consistently for over 7 months. My daughter's disappeared, but she still asks about it. It helped spark her curiosity about other animals. She wanted to know all about hamsters. She'd pretend to feed him and even tried putting him on a ribbon leash. Definitely a good buy. Just don't forget to put him away at night. It's so realistic that stepping on him in the middle of the night might scare the pants off you!
