I purchased this for my grandaughter to use with her Zhu Zhu pet that she received for a Christmas gift when I couldn't find any pet accessories in the retail stores. The ball works great with her Zhu Zhu and she now has a little friend for her Zhu Zhu. I also purchased and exercise wheel with a toy hamster and that works great too. My kids love it. IT is entertaining to watch run around and the cat chase after it. The wheels will get caught up in hair or other string. It has been dropped a couple of times by our toddler but still working. Great that it only uses one battery. IT doesn't make noise like a zhu zhu but also much less expensive since it also comes with a ballCustomer Review: FUN!!!

It's such a cute toy! I like it way better than the zhuzhu pets because the noises they make annoy me so much, so I got this cute better quiet one instead. And when it's in its ball and it hits a wall it will turn around, but when it's out of its ball and hits the wall it just stops. My 8 year-old son discovered Zhu Zhu pets and asked for one long after they were readily available. We found the Happy Hamster - which comes with the ball - in the NY Hall of Science for $9 and he was thrilled to get it. Given that the 45 minutes he played with it so far may be all there is, I am happy to have avoided the Zhu Zhu hassle.Customer Review: My Yorkie Loves Hamasuta!

This is great toy for my Yorkie. If she is too rough with it, the ball comes open and the hamster is free. My dogs waits until I put it back into the exercise ball before resuming play. It rolls on carpet fine but is better on hard floors. I use a rechargeable AAA battery and it lasts a long time. You can't go wrong with the price.
